Ew. you might consider getting a new camera if the 256 mb sd card was standard for your camera.
cameras nowadays are advancing at a break neck speed, and if you get a replacement for what you paid for the hp photosmart m415, I can assure that you will have less compatibility issues and more capacity for pictures and videos with sound, resolution, etc.
I know it is tough to part with old technologies, but when it comes to cameras it pays to update.
