An exact model number would help. I'm assuming you'r refering to a lawn sprinkler that you can set say to turn 180 degrees, and then reverse back to the beginning and start over. Most sprinklers have two adjustable tabs that determine where it stops. You move these around the dial to set the stop and return positions. Then the top part of the sprinkler that moves, has a tab that can be flipped down for fwd-rev operation, or left raised for 360 degree coverage.THE SPRINKLER GOES ONLY CLOCK WISE WILL NOT TURN - 0282cdd.jpg

I have 4 zones can run them manually; but they will not come on the automatic setting. Springs are strong; timer itself keeps accurate time. I did read inside the box about a "Silver Pin"...

If zones are not advancing, then 1) Clock motor is not rotating dial > replace clock motor, 2) on-off trippers are worn down > replace trippers, 3) or the day skipper is set to skip all days and all skipper pins are pushed down, 4) or sprinkler valve is bad.

The sprinkler timer dial rotates each 24 hours. The trippers cause sprinkler head to turn on zone 1 for example. Zone 1 waters until the dial rotates to part of dial with no tripper. Without a tripper on the dial, the timer turns off circuit to sprinkler. At this point, the sprinkler valve mechanically advances to zone 2 and waits for timer to turn off again. The timer does not advance sprinkler to next zone > the sprinkler valve is designed to advance each time circuit turns off. The timer just turns on and off. When next tripper rotates around, the timer turn on the circuit and zone 2 begins to water.

The silver pin inserted at 12midnight position is for advancing the day skipper wheel.

WHY IS MY RAIN TRAIN MOVING BACKWARDS

Hi there ... have you posted this question before? Not important ... I answered this question yesterday ...

ASSURE that the water arms are pointing in the proper direction. Normally, the arms should turn in a clock-wise direction to make the "tractor" go forward. If yours are going the other way, the tractor will travel backward. If yours ARE moving in a clock-wise direction and your tractor is going backward, reverse so the arms travel in a counter clock-wise direction. If it STILL goes backward, no matter which direction you are spinning, return the device to the store where you got it and ask for assistance.

I have this very device (though not this model number), though mine is LOTS older than yours is. I can make it go backward but it doesn't necessarily want to straddle the hose in reverse. All I do is reverse the direction the arms spin and vo-la ... it goes backward. BTW, I always store my tractor with the transmission in neutral to avoid damage by rough handling of others.

Sprinkler and irrigation timers are 14 day.

Intermatic has a page with manuals:
Open page, click plus next to timers and scroll down to sprinkler and irrigation timers
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/instruction%20manuals.aspx
It's good to have the manual on hand in case the product is discontinued

That being said, it sounds like the clock motor is bad.
Snap timer free from box and tip out to see clock motor located on back of timer.
Get the number off clock motor

Intermatic site shows pages of clock motors: They are priced high, but cheaper than new timer.

Aplus supply sells assortment of Intermatic clock motors.

I'm using it for the first time this year and it's going backward.

This is simple ... and you will smile when I tell you what you did ... you are spraying in a counter clock wise direction and you should be spraying in a clock wise direction. Rotate the arms about 45 degrees so it spins the other direction ...

Was that a smile I saw???
