Is your machine a FAV6800A or FAV9800A?

I'm an owner of the FAV6800A. I would need to confirm the machine Model number and the 1st two digits of the s/n would help for Series identification for me to offer troubleshooting support.

I ask because this is the Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer forum and the Service Mode Key strokes offered are wrong for this machine model number.

My WAG is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A but I don’t like to WAG.

So phargrave676

Could you confirm your machine Model Number and the 1st two digits of your Serial Number which can be found here.

If your machine is one of the model numbers supported in this forum I will try to help as an owner that knows the machine.

I will have additional questions that will be related to the amount of Wash Basket water fill level in inches and the status that the Pressure indicates/signals to the Control Board monitored in Service Mode.

Some links just in case you are in the right forum and decide to DIY the fix. If this is not your machine Model number please disregard my post......Rich

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error NF means No Fill. The washer has tried to fill but was unsuccessful. NF indicates No Flow. There is something that is interrupting the inbound flow of water to the washer, either hot or cold. Sometimes this happens when water service in the area is interrupted, creating an air pocket that causing the water valve not to sense water.

Try running the diagnostic test by—

  • Press the delicates and heavy soil keys together for 3 seconds.
  • You are in the service mode.
  • Now, press wrinkle free key, cold water should start entering.
  • Then, press the cotton sturdy and hot water should flow.
  • To exit the test mode, either unplug the machine or press the delicate and heavy soil again for 3 seconds.
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Getting nf from maytag neptune tl washer code

Don't know unit but see if you can get wiring diagram and see where the relay that picks up that cycle. You can just tap them at times to get them to work. Hopefully it doesn't have optic couplers (no relays) cause the that board is bad

It stops about 13 minutes from the end of the cycle, right before it spins. It displays NF.

""It stops about 13 minutes from the end of the cycle, right before it spins. ""

NF is no fill for the FAV6800A and FAV9800A are you still having the issue.

To me it sounds like you have two issues
""It stops about 13 minutes from the end of the cycle, right before it spins. "" with no additional info this could be a issue with the Clutch Pulley. Did you take any error codes like DC or UC?

Are you going to DIY the fix or call in a repair service?

My neptune TL stops at 11 minutes and flashes "nf"

mattscott;
My comments are based on the FAV6800A/FAV9800A.
NF = No Fill. Your machine has reached a Control Board internal timer and has not seen proper signaling from the Pressure Switch for expected water fill for the wash cycle selected.
Possible fail points.
1. Pressure Switch is not signaling for properly tor water fill.
2. Water inlet valve is restricted or not functioning.
Please confirm your machine model number is it a FAV6800A or FAV9800A? I’m going to assume your machine model is a one of those models. Here is a link for the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual.
If you can let me know how much water is in the wash basket when your Control Board triggers the no fill error “NF” to the display? I would prefer you select Quick Wash cycle with minimal machine settings for the water fill. Do you have the issue with a cold temp select fill, a warm/hot temp select fill?
If you want to DIY I would suggest you become familiar with how to get in Service Mode. We may need to go to page 16 of the SM and possible check for correct Pressure Switch transitions in Board Functional Test Input Control Keys.

We will continue after your feedback…..Rich

Washer won't finish cycle, flashes "dc"

sounds like the timer/selector switch may be shorting out or faulty. You can test the wires to and from it with an ohmmeter.
A faulty water pump could also cause this but not as common

Maytag neptune TL

The machine needs to cut you a break;

“”i have a maytag neptune TL and there are several things wrong with it...1. I can't wash small loads it will stop at the spin cycle and flash dc””

This issue is a clutch issue see this post to DIY the repair.

“”it will wash fine on regular loads until it comes to spin cycle again and it will stop and flash nf””

This one is a little confusing the “nf” error is a No water fill error code. Check these two post for support regarding water inlet restriction or valve not opening properly.

nf post nf post 2

“”my fabric softener dispenser will not let the softener out neither will the bleach dispenser””

See this fabric softer post for support. The fabric softener dispenser may be clogged or the water dispenser valves feeding both dispensers may not be operating properly. The Service Manual on page 16 “Board Output Test” will give you support to turn on the Fabric Softener Valve and Bleach valve. See if you hear the valves operate in Service Mode”

My method may seem a little confusion for viewing water flow to the dispensers. This issue could be associated to the nf error you are receiving, restricted water flow (inlet screen clog) or cold water valve not working properly.

Post back for any questions or possible support I can offer. I’m an owner like you not a repair person but I’m very comfortable working on this machine. Rich

Nf error cycle won't finish-maytag neptune TL

NF = No water fill. I haven’t had this failure to date but this how I would troubleshoot. Could be a block at the water valve inlet screens where the supply hoses connect to the machine. Check to see if the washer fill screens are blocked, It could be a failure of the Cold/Hot water solenoid valves. I would try to fill with hot water if no fill try cold only.
It might be easier to go into Service Mode to turn on and off the water valves while troubleshooting this issue. Enter Service Mode and use the keys assigned to the table at the bottom right side of page 16 of the FAV6800A/9800A Service Manual . Do this check only if you feel qualified, if still no water fill after the above checks I would break out my DVM and check for 120VAC at the water inlet valves. Post Back if you need additional help. My maytag neptune flashes code nf

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped.
