This happened to me today, which was what brought me here. Also, when I plugged it in to recharge, my computer didn't even recognize it. The SanDisk troubleshooting said to hold up a power switch, which I didn't have, for 20 seconds. So I held the power button down for 20 seconds. (Much longer than the usual amount of time required to turn on). At first I thought it didn't do anything, but then when I pressed the power button again briefly, my SansaClip woke up, was recognized by my computer again, and in every way behaved normally.

Thank You Very Much My Sansa Has a Little Temper and Sometimes Turns On And Sometimes Doesn't Turn On! Thanks Again

  • Arler Nov 24, 2010

It did what you said, but then my sansa clip fell back asleep and my computer ignored it again

I just did what you said (though in my case I have a power switch) and it worked exactly as you predicted - at first didn't seem to do anything, but then turned on and behaved normally with another brief press of the power switch! Thank you so much!

Thanks! This seems to have done the trick...holding down power button while leaving it connected to computer...then I pressed the volume button and on it came.

How do I remove music from it

Hello

Connect the USB cable to your Sansa MP3 player, then hook the other end to a free USB port on your computer.

Give the computer time to recognize the Sansa MP3 player. Once it has, double-click on the MP3 player's icon to view the music files stored to memory.

Scroll through the list of audio files until you find the ones that you wish to delete from the Sansa MP3 player.

Click on single items or click and lasso multiple files.

Right-click on the highlighted files to pull down an action list and from there select Delete. The computer will ask if you really want to throw the file away. Select OK.

Exit from the window, then disconnect the USB cable from the Sansa MP3 player. The player will automatically turn off. The memory will update the first time you turn the player on after deleting songs.

Washed? Water damage is irreversible - that player needs to be replaced. Call Sansa and say your player won't turn on - don't mention water. See what they say.
