Question about Sharp LC-26D6U 26 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

I have a sharp 32" bought at Walmarts at the Christmas before last and the low volume is driving me nuts. In my small living room with Volume set at 60 it still is not loud. Is there a trick to get louder volume with out spending money for surround sound?

Unfortunately it seems to be a sharp thing. I have a sharp 46 inch and there are times when I find it difficult to hear. Some channels seem to work fine with the volume right around 20 - 25. Seems to be quite often though that my volume is set over 40 and still struggling to hear. Seems with my tv that there is no difference between it being set on 35 and 60. They sound the same. Surround sound is the way to go if you stick with sharp.

Low volume

If it's a new TV, then it might just be as high as it goes. A lot of HDTVs don't come with great speakers due to the small flat feature of the TV not allowing anything better.

You will have to get external speakers for the TV to experience better sound.
Here is a great sound bar that is well priced. http://www.amazon.com/Vizio-VSB205-32-Inch-Theater-Soundbar/dp/B004VGI2EK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359416740&sr=8-2&keywords=32+inch+sound+bar

I've personally heard that sound bar and they are surprisingly loud and hardly take up any room at all.

Sharp aquos 32" low volume

Has it always been this way? Are you using cable or Sat. Box? I am asking because it may not be the TV, rather the source. I had a Phillpis that did the same thing and I actually bought a cheap home theatre so I could here it. After about a year I had to replace my sat reciever and low and behold boom my sound improved 100%. If you can give me a little more info I may be able to help further. What the source, whats the type of hookups things like that.

Sharp 32c231 volume too low

If you are using a cable box with this set, the problem may be in the box settings.
Try this:
open the settings menu on the box . You may have to select"more settings" or something like that title to find the audio selections.
Under the audio, you will find recording and viewing volume settings. put these to maximum and save.
Your volume should now be more than adequate.

Maximum volume on the set is too low!

On some cable boxes they have their own volume control. Raise the volume on the box if you can. if the volume on the tv is up all the way it should be loud. It should not be the tv if you have volume already coming out. try hooking up a dvd player or some other device and see if you have the same result

Volume issue

Very loud it never gonna be. It's a tv with very small speakers, but I have a lot of customers who complain about that and I checked first the signal source. Sometimes the sattelite receiver or cable box give a sound not so good. The best way to check it is to plug something (an antenna or just a 2 inch wire) in the coaxial plug to see if on the tuner is the same sound. I bet is gonna be stronger.
