It looks like your ballast board is going bad, this is a common problem for DLP TV's the ballast board is the power source to the lamp and if for any reason this board does not send enough energy to the lamp it will turn off, It looks like your ballast it starting to get weak it gathers enough energy to turn on but gets weak again and turn back off you have a new lamp and it requires for the ballast to be working at it's full potential

I would suggest it is a ballast problem. You can check supply of 5 volts to ballast's small 5 pin connector (trigger voltage) and about 300V-330V to large 2pin connector. If both voltages present at the start and lamp is working with in another TV - it is bad ballast.

WELL IF YOU JUST RECENTLY REPLACED THE LAMP AND THE TV STILL WONT TURN ON THE PROBLEM IS GOING TO BE COMING FROM THE BALLAST BOARD IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S NOT SENDING THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF VOLTAGE TO THE LAMP SO IT COULD TURN THIS IS THE POWER SOURCE FOR THE LAMP IF THIS PART IS NOT OK THEN THE LAMP WILL NEVER TURN ON

New lamp turns on flashes 7 times

Just a thought...you *might* have a bad ballast in addition to that defective power supply.That flashing could be the ballast trying to ignite the lamp. A lamp is just like an enclosed welder's arc. The ballast generates a high-voltage spark to initially start the lamp, then low voltage with high current keeps it burning. If you look into the lens and see "lightning" flashes but no lamp ignition, that's what's happening. The ballast could've been damaged by the defective supply. Also, try a known-good lamp...just to rule out a defective new one--in the shop, we kept all old working lamps as testers.

Steve The part you are inquiring about is called the ballast, It is a small (say 3" x 8" ) circuit board that attatches directly to the bulb via the two pronged leads coming off the bulb. On this set you'll have to take the back off to get to it. Once you do, you'll see it right infront of the optics block, just a couple screws will loosen it. There is a white and black power line and a sleeved reciever line connected to it. Get the model number off your ballast and go to shopjimmy.com rivervalleyelectronics.net or ebay and replace. If I remember correctly. There are several compatible ballasts for this set. Rule of thumb though, is that just because it looks the same doesn't mean it is. Call samsung, they will also sell you the newest, latest and greatest ballast. You can just ask them for a part number too and then shop around. Good luck.

Good Day, teagues;
It sounds like a bad lamp. Lamps normally have a 5,000-hour life. Looking at the lamp can tell you if it’s bad if it looks burnt, but not always. Your Panasonic TV is also known for having failure of the ballast, which turns the lamp on. 95% of the time it’s the lamp, trouble shooting the ballast is a little more challenging.
The lamp replacement is a very simple process; instructions are in the TV’s owner’s manual. Call the factory, they will send you the lamp to your home with complete detailed instructions.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

Replaced lamp still not working

Power issues (Tv True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung True True (``````````` (``````````` 0 95250 95250 clip_image002.gif is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.
