It depends on what the set-up was for out of the box.
the 8200 series has a 256mb VRam your standard default is probably around 1280X800

1680X1050X16.7million colors max resolution.

Continue with a blank password field, since none was manually set.

If that doesn't work, locate the BIOS battery and remove it for several minutes and replace it, that should flash the BIOS to default.

Having problems with my acer travelmate 4060

Get virus scanner/remover, and then try restore to a date when the computer was in full working order. If that does not work, try to backup valuable data files before original default factory settings, and get model-specific drivers etc from Acer and Microsoft websites.

Travelmate 8204 orbicam sucks. Very choppy. Am I missing simething to make is smoother?

Firstly, make sure that you have the latest drivers for the cam. Then, if the "choppiness" of the cam is isolated when you're chatting away with your webcam, you might also want to check that your Internet connection is good enough (768Kbps at least).

Then again, Acer has been notorius for bad products. I even had this Acer Aspire3000 once. Just one year later everything - one by one - started malfunctioning.
