Dear Community members!
I really know how to fix this problem "stuck out lenses"-i have done the repair myself,it needs some patience, and time. It takes 1-2h if you have good mechanic-electronic skills maybe 45-Min,for me this was 1h.I would like to mention, I am IT-electronic service engineer, but anyone with good, steady hands and some skills can do it,just needs little bit of patience. You have to take pieces all the camera, unfortunately.
1.Remove the external casing unscrewing all the visible screws 2.With the cover removed flip the screen out,be carefully because this is attached with two type of connectors witch are very delicate! 3.After removing the screen you have to unscrew the 6 black screws and the CCD-sensor comes off.Very carefully!!--it has 4-springs attached and 3silver screws are holding it and of course the wiring which has a delicate connector which needs to be removed as well.Underneath of this you should be able to see the lens moving mechanism which needs to be reseated,in mine one i had to remove on of the springs from inside and reseat a plastic pin which holds the mechanism arms. That's all. 3.After that everything needs putting back in reversed order. Good luck!

Lens wont go back in

The mechanical rectactors are probably worn out. Try turning it on and off again. If that doesn't work, try pushing gently the lens with your palm while shutting it off, maybe the rectractors need a bit of help or are just stuck and may fix themselves after you help them rectact the lens once.

Camera lens wont open

Saw a similar problem recently, same cause, and result was the lens was jammed.

Did manage to wiggle it free after many attempts...it only stays on for a few seconds before faulting and going off...but it's a bit hard to get a hold on the edge of the lens to pop-out the low side.

Started by laying it on it's back and checking the level of the lens edges for the low spot, then used a thick sewing needle to lift up while turning the unit on (again and again) until the gear-ring popped back in during the lens-check at start-up.

Canon lens error

That means that the little engine that was moving the lens is clogged with sand, dust or any other material. A sollution you could try at home would be to use a little paper and stick it in the space of the lens to see if there is any dust. I this is not gonna help that means that your cammera is broken!

Camera wont turn on and lens wont go in and i just put new batteries in

Lens of the Camera doesn't retract:
---------------------------------------
Before trying any of the suggestions, make sure that the Battery is
fully charged and in recording mode.

1) Remove the batteries from the camera, wait for a couple of minutes,
then put them back in and turn the camera on.
2) Try compressed air. With a fine tip blow off gun and dry compressed
air (20 lbs) set the tip between the lens turret and the camera body
and turn on the air while moving the tip around the lens. It should
remove all dust and sand. Turn the camera on and it should function
fine.s

3) Try forcing the camera lens:

Turn off the camera. Place it on the back with the lens facing up and
take a look at the spacing between the lens and the lens housing. If
you notice that the gap is not even all the way around the lens, the
problem should be easy to fix. This type of a problem usually occurs if
the camera was dropped while the lens was extended.
Simply - VERY GENTLY - press down the lens on the side where the gap is the biggest. You should hear a "click" as it pops back into place. Try
powering the camera back on.

If the lens doesn't extend at all or it extends, and then retracts
again, do the following.
(a) Turn the camera off.
(b) Take the camera in one hand and with the other gently take one part
of the lens and gently move it round in a circular movement. Do so with
both sections of the lens. You will hear a "click" as it pops back in
place.
(c) Power the camera on.

Another version of this fix would be to pull and twist on the largest
ring of the lens while turning the camera on. Listen for a "click". If
at first the focus seems to be off, turn the camera on and off and take
lots of pictures, close ups and distance. Focus should slowly start
improving.

maybe this works: turn your camera on in play mode (if you have play button press it to turn on camera) and if your camera hase a shoot-play switch select play mode and then turn your camera on.) repeat this until lens goes back. I hope this works...
