There is a faint grey line running vertically down each printed page of my CLP-300.

Here's how to delete printer from mac:

For Mac OS 10.x go to hard drive -> Library -> Printers Remove Samsung folder and files.


then reinstall driver from website

  • Go to www.samsung.com
  • Click on the "Download Center"
  • Choose appropriate selection from the list in each boxes.
  • Select "Driver" tab right underneath the model number.
  • Either click on the blue description or the icon under File column to download the driver.
  • When dialouge box comes up, click on "Save".
  • Select "Desktop" then click on "Save" to save the driver.
  • Look for the driver from the Desktop and double click to install
Then reseat the toners and make sure they are not low.
Clean the inner portion of printer with a damp cloth.

Faint grey printing


According to the service manual for problems with light print image, the cause can be the Developers or High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS). Other possible causes are given as: Developer roller is stained when the toner or developer cartridge is almost consumed. Ambient temperature is below 10 degrees Centigrade. Bad contacts with the HVPS or abnormal output from the HVPS. To replace the Developers you would need to purchase a replacement Imaging Kit CLP-R300A. Any problems in the HVPS would require a factory repair.

My Samsung printer clp-300 gives very poor black printing. The color printing is OK. I replaced the cartridge, I shook it more than once, but still it does not print like it should. Does any one know a...


What do you mean that you get poor black printing? Is it faded on vertically, with one side of the page or or portions of the print faint? If so, the problem lies with the imaging unit, specifically the black developer blades. You can fix it by buying a new one. But eventually you need another one. This is the more expensive route. But, if you are handy you can clean it up yourself. If you look at my tips section, I have posted a detailed instructions to show you how you can do it yourself.

Black print is very faint


If the print is faint, streaky in a vertical fashion up and down the page, the problem lies with the developer blades in the imaging unit. To fix this, you will need to clean the blades or buy a new imaging unit. The imaging unit cost $100+ and the problem will be fixed until the blades get dirty again. Or you can learn how to clean the blades yourself. Samsung CLP-300 Printer not printing black well


You need to take it a couple steps further after your test print. Sounds like your print heads need cleaning or your cartridge may need aligning. It's best to do this each time you install a new cartridge. get more information and help from here .

I suspect the problem is common. The Imaging unit requires a Black developer to be replaced. you may approach samsung service center for this.

Try to print a demo page to rule out link problem, press and hold the stop button for 3 seconds, see if that works

Half the page is dark grey


Low toner.
Consider how often you print.
If you print more than twice a day, toner will tend to run low after half a year, so I would buy a replacement cartridge and see if this solves your issue.
They aren't terribly expensive, so it is worth a shot.

you have 2 problem.
1). toner is bad
2). toner is low
change the toner should fix both porblem.
try to clean the roller while you have the toner out. (just in case).
