Did the engine pop several times? If yes, then the fuel system needs looked at. Check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for plugging. Check the fuel lines for decay, splitting, or other damage. Does the primer bulb pull fuel into itself after several pumps. If still no help, remove the carburetor and check the condition of the diaphragm in the lower chamber--it should not be hard or cracked. Also, check the intake system behind the carburetor for any damage or decay. While the carburetor is off, take it apart, clean with spray carburetor cleaner, especially the small filter screen set down into the transfer port. Go to: for a 12 page article on Walbro brand carburetor theory and troubleshooting. The information applies in general to other brands of carburetor. Hope some of this helps!

Spark should be blue and snappy with fresh plug gapped at 0.020. Try putting some fresh fuel mix into the plug hole and try to start--it should pop several times. Does the engine seem to have good compression? If not, remove the muffler and check the piston skirt and cylinder wall for severe scoring. If it is, then the engine has probably be run on straight gasoline or poorly pre-mixed fuel/oil. At the very lean fuel/oil ratios ( 50:1) recommended for today's saws, proper premixing of fresh fuel and a modern synthetic oil made for saw use is imperative plus the fuel container should be vigorously shaken just before each filling. If the compression appears good, then check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check the fuel lines for any decay or other damage. Make sure the carburetor fasteners are tight. Hope some of this helps!

If you are not getting any reaction from starting fluid the spark plug must be at fault. Two cycle engines are pretty ******* plugs.

Husqvana128DL wont start,new Plug.Tried Starting Fluid.AnyIdea

Check the piston is not scored by removing the muffler and looking through the open exhaust port, if ok, remove the spark plug and check for a spark, if there is no spark it will require a new ignition unit.

Clean the plug.
Close the gap a little to get a stronger spark (temporary)
Use starting fluid to aid starting (a little will do it)

I've a Kawsaki ride on mower - engine FJ180V - electric start - turn over won't start, have checked spark - it's ok plus fuel getting to carb bowl ok - air filter clean -any ideas on troubleshhoting...

Have you tried spraying a little carb cleaner into intake and seeing if it starts?

If it hits on carb cleaner or starting fluid you probably have a blocked main jet.

If you have air, fuel and spark and still no start check compression and timing.

F150 won't start

So you turned the key just to "Run" and hear the fuel pump running (guessing elec pump)? Did you pull off a spark plug wire to check for spark? If no spark, pull the Distributor cap and check inside of cap, and rotor for damage, if ok, then the coil is bad, replace it. If you have spark at the plugs, have you tried Starting Fluid? (old school, go to AutoZone for this)

My engine is turning over but wont start i think its the fuel pump i tried starter fluid and nothing i changed the spark plugs nada

If you car will not start on starting fluid, you either have no spark, or you have a bad timing belt. Have the timing checked on the belt, and, if it is OK, you may need to look at the distributor, the ignition coil and the ignitor.

Clean air filter and try starting fluid through air intake if you have spark this will definetely start it......On the rancher , is the air cleaner clean??? Remember that all you need to make an engine run is fuel , air , and an ignition source .. When you attempted to start the Husqavrna by adding fuel to spark plug chamber this actually causes a no start or very hard start condition it will act like if flooded....What does help if you remove the spark plug pull the pullstart and ensure that no liquid (gas is coming out of chamber) if it is keep pulling until it does not.... then take your spark plug ,after you have cleaned and gapped it, and with a butane lighter heat the tip for approximately 30 seconds and then reinstall plug and give it a yank after you spray starting fluid in the air intake....Good Luck
