After only 2 weeks from purchasing my 13" alluminum macbook brand new, some red wine was spilled over it. after cleaning the wine up n letting it dry out it amazingly still works....BUT... it wont read a battery so i have to always have it plugged into an outlet. which defeats the purpose of a laptop. any tips to get it to read n charge a battery??? it powers up n runs compltely normal. ive even swapped out the original hard drive for a bigger one recently n still works fine. would love to sit on the beach with my laptop oneday etc...

There are a lot of things that could cause this. The most common are the battery was shorted when wine got on it or the motherboard was damaged by the wine getting into the charging circuit. If it is the battery it's an easy fix, replace the battery and no more problem. If it is a problem on the motherboard that is a little harder. It maybe repairable but you will have to have it opened and tested to isolate the circuit problem. Unfortunately, if you don't have a Multimeter and knowledge of Circuit board design you most likely won't be able to isolate and make this repair. Try a battery change first, if that doesn't work you will need to take it to a shop and have it repaired.

You have to be gentle but you can use a tech sized screwdriver and pull the key off. From there you can clean if up a bit more thoroughly.

What is the appropriate serving temperature of wines?

There are four different types of wine with different temperatures. Deep red wines should be served in 15-19 Celsius. Light red wine should be served in 13 Celsius. Sparkling wines and Champaign should be served in 6-8 Celsius. Dry white wines like rose and blush should be served in 8-14 Celsius.

Wine spilled on keyboard

You have to open up the laptop and remove the keyboard and dry it.

Also clean other parts properly where the wine has reached.

When you cleaned the keyboard, did you take ALL layers apart and clean them with alcohol? Most have 3 layers of conductive film. One missed spot will create problems.

Spilled wine now cant get camera off movie mode

Turn camera off! Take out battery!
Now, with NO Electrical contact or power in it, try to clean wine residue away from any moving parts with clean water and try drying unit slowly in front of a heater or hair dryer. If available, put a small amount of WD-40 in the same areas, making sure to wipe away any drainage or excess. Allow to dry overnight in warm area, pehaps by heater, but don't let it get too hot. Reinstall battery and turn it on.
It should work find now. Good Luck!

Beer spillage on my macbook pro keyboard and now some of the buttons(including space bar)do not work or responde

Turn off your computer and let it dry out. Leaving the computer running will just cook the liquid and make it stickier. If you ever have a spill again, turn your comp off right away and let it dry out for a good week.

I spilled wine all over an old laptop of mine. Some buttons wouldn't work. I gave it to a friend who asked for it and she says it has worked great for her.

Give your comp a bit of time to dry out. Let it sit in the sun in a window for a week, then try to turn it back on.

If the above doesn't work, ask the guys at your local computer store what you could try to clean it.

Water on MacBook Pro!

Well, Spilling water on your computer sure isn't the smartest thing to do, but it's not sure the damage is too big. Let it dry for a few days: take the battery apart and leave it in a well-ventilated room for a couple of days. When it's nice and dry, try turning it on. If it works - great! If it doesn't, you might want to get it repaired at a professional soon. Actually, taking it to a pro might be a good idea anyway. Good luck!
