Are you running ie8 ?

Internet Explorer 8 suffers a glitch involving high-contrast themes for the Windows desktop and other "theme-skinning" software. Themes change the way components of the Windows operating system appears. When Internet Explorer 8 is installed for the first time, certain themes such as "Classic" can trigger a defect in the browser which makes the toolbar and window frame appear to be solid black. The glitch is only temporary and is removable by switching themes.

Press "WIN" and "R" at the same time. Type "services.msc" into the "Run" Dialog box and Press "Enter". Scroll down the list of services until you see "Themes" service. Stop it by right-clicking it and selecting "Stop". This forces the visual effects for Windows to be disabled temporarily. Close any Internet Explorer windows that may be open. In the "Services" list, right-click "Themes" and select start. This will reset and re-enable visual effects for the Windows operating system. Right-click the desktop and select "Properties". In the "Properties" dialog box, click the "Themes" tab if it is not selected. On the drop down list, change the theme to an alternative item on the list. Click "Apply". Once the theme has changed, click the drop down list again and change it back to the original theme. Click "OK" to any open dialog boxes. Open up Internet Explorer to test the browser. If the toolbar appears normal, the issue has been resolved. If they still appear black, reboot the computer and test Internet Explorer again.

Internet shuts it self off

Whereas Internet Explorer is a very popular browser, you may have problems with it from time to time. Internet Explorer has been known to either randomly shut down or close pages. This can be extremely irritating, especially if you are in the middle of a project. Use these tips to fix Internet Explorer if it keeps closing Web pages.

Start by deleting your browsing history. Open Internet Explorer and click the "Safety" tab found in the top right corner of the Web browser. Then, choose the "Delete Browsing History" option. A box will appear on the computer screen. Make sure that there are checkmarks next to each option listed in the box. Click the "Delete" tab to delete the browsing history. Move to the next step if Internet Explorer keeps closing pages. Download, install and then run both an anti-malware and an anti-virus software program. http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4281&file=1&evp=dbb3b0aebe6a6a4ff18089a6489a5e62 anti malware free edition Win XP/2003/Vista/Windows7 http://www.majorgeeks.com/Microsoft_Security_Essentials_for_Windows_d6242.html microsoft security essentials your operating system must be registered Spyware, adware, viruses and other similar infections can cause Internet Explorer to shut down or close pages. Using IE 9 I can't see remotely the cameras to my CCTV system. I believe the netviewer program is not working properly. I only get a small square in the middle of screen top.

Win7 has both Internet Explorer 32bit and Internet Explorer 64bit.Click on start, all programs, open Internet Explorer, NOT Internet Explorer 64bit. The shortcut on my desktop was to the 64bit option and I could not view cameras regardless of permissions etc. Once I opened 32bit version cameras work perfectly. I fought with this for weeks before realizing there are two versions of IE9. Hope this helps.

Black square in middle of screen about 25in X 25 in

If a black square appears on the screen and you can see the picture around the edges, it means that the closed captions are on and set to "TEXT". Go into the TV's menu, navigate to the closed captions page and set the captions to OFF.
