I keep getting an eror message how do I reinstall the games manager

It depends on the manager you are referring to and the game. Many games will have the ability to "fix" or "reinstall" from a dropdown in the game manager. If you can't access the game manager in any capacity then you can always go to the files where the manager is stored and search around for the install package. You can re-install by simply installing the manager again where it could re-install automatically or ask you whether you need to re-install, uninstall or fix the program.

Tip

Speeding Up Your Computer (Windows XP)

Note: these instructions are for Windows XP, however the procedure is very similar for both Vista and 7.

1. Limit the number of programs booting with your computer.
To do this click on the "Start" button, then choose "Run..." Type in msconfig then press enter. A new window will open called the "System Configuration Utility". Click on the "Startup" tab.
All of the programs that have a check in their box are set to boot with your computer. If you recognize any (like AIM or any other messengers) you should uncheck these boxes if you are okay not having them boot when your computer does. This will make the boot of your computer much faster. When you are done click "Okay" and then choose "Exit without restart". The next time you reboot your computer these settings will be applied.

2. Uninstall unnecessary programs.
Click on the "Start" button and then open the control panel. Open the "Add or Remove Programs" tool. Locate each of the programs you do not use, and choose uninstall. Some things you can uninstall are toolbars and games. If you no longer use them, and you still have the CD for the game then remove the program before you keep it. Keep in mind that you can remove programs while still keeping your personal files for most games, this is a good move if you want to reinstall the game eventually.

3. Download and install Windows Updates.
Click on the "Start" button and find the "Windows Update" option under programs. Choose express install and download and install all of the updates recommended for your computer. You will likely have to restart your computer at the end of this process. When your computer has restarted, repeat this update process. Repeat until there are no longer any updates recommended for your computer (this may take three or even four update cycles).

4. Increasing your Hard Drive's efficiency.
Open up "My Computer" and then right-click on "Local Disk C:" and choose "Properties". Choose the "Tools" tab. You are going to run both the Defragmenter as well as Check disk utilities from this same spot.
  • Check Disk
Click on the "Check Now..." button to initiate the check disk. Check both of the boxes here and run the check disk with these options, you will need to restart in order to finish this operation.

  • Defragment
Go back into the Local Disk tools and click on the button "Defragment Now..." First choose the analyze button to determine if you need to defragment your drive or not, if it is recommended run a defragment. This whole process of optimizing your hard drive may take quite a while (just let each process run overnight).

5. Adding additional RAM (if necessary).
If your computer is still running slowly you need to add additional RAM to your computer. You need to find out what kind of RAM your computer requires (DDR, DDR2, DDR3...) and you can easily install it yourself. You should always buy RAM online as it is far less expensive online than it is in stores like Best Buy.

Maintenance
In order to keep the speed of your computer up, you need to regularly run full-computer antivirus scans with frequently updated software. Viruses, malware, and general junkware have a habit of slowing down your computer. Try installing free antivirus software following this tip:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r5317428-actually_free_antivirus_software_windows
Also be sure to regularly run the disk defragmenter (every six months), check disk (once a year) and install windows updates (once a month).

Your computer will now run much faster and will increase its life span significantly.

My Dell Inspiron 1525 keeps turning off while being used. It is usually when trying to play a online game or on Facebook. Could it be overheating? The keyboard seems to be getting a bit warm, but not any...

Download CPUIS's hardware Monitor (http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php it's free). Install and run. If the CPU temp gets higher than 60 C when idle or 85 at any time, you ahve an overheating issue. If CPU tem reaches 100 C, windows will shut down.

You may need to clean it up if you haven't done so in a while. Turn the laptop off, remove the AC charger cord and the battery. Remove the bottom cover and blow compressed air from a can (compressed air cans can be bought at Walmart, Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.). Be sure you remove all dust and lint. Check the fan can be easily moved with fingers. Replace cover, battery, AC charger cord and restart laptop. Check temp again.

BTW, if you're running 3D games, online or not, get yourself a desktop. Laptops are a bad choice for gaming, since videocards can reach 100 C during some heavily demanding 3D games.

Brand new computor freezes

It basically means that your game is incompatible (cannot play on ur OS).

All you have to do is:

Go to Safe Mode, To do this, you need to boot up and press f8 until you see the advanced options, go to Safe Mode. Login with the correct details, and go to control panel. Uninstall the game and restart your PC to take effects.

The next time your buying a software for your PC, check to see if it's compatible with your OS.
