Question about Garden
Hello, please kindly scroll through to see the instructions provided below to guide you on how to go about your homelite weedheater. If it turns over.... I'd check the usual, spark and fuel.... use somegas or starting fluid down the carb, if it starts then its the carb orfuel to the carb (if it has a fuel pump, that may be bad) if itdoesn't, check the spark (take the plug out and put it back in the bootand ground it to the engine and turn it over.... if it doesn't spark, try it without the kill wire to the ignition coil (this is under theflywheel), if it still doesn't, it could be the coil itself.. try a newplug though, old one could be fouled, its cheap to try anyway. If itdoes spark, still doesn't start... have the compression tested. Now ifit doesn't turn over at all, try and jump the solenoid posts. IT WILLSPARK so make sure you can't smell gas fumes, or have gas on you ornear you!!!, if she turns over (have the key in the start position) andstarts..., its more then likely the solenoids bad.... cheap toreplace..... keep in mind the engine has to spin atleast around 400rpm. If its doing it really slow, it won't start... and could be a badstarter (should be able to be rebuilt) or the starter gear could beworn out, or the ring gear in the flywheel (some are plastic), or itsjust not engaging..... also 200 is the bare minimum I'd use in amower... the highest cranking amp Lawn&Garden battery you can putin it should be used to insure good starts.
Disconnect the spark plug so the machinedoesn't accidentally start. Check the undercarriage. If the riding lawnmower is missing a flywheel key, it won't start. Also check the bladeshaft. If it is bent, replace it.

Look for bent blades and a clogged deck in the undercarriage. Clean theblades and sharpen them if necessary. Remove any debris with a longscrewdriver. Replace the blades and tighten them securely.
wish you good luck,
