Side brush? Main brush? both? How did you find that they are not spinning? To properly test, place the front wheel on the table edge and hold the wheels up in the machine (dont hold the tires) , Then start the clean mode.
If it doesnt spin then you need to open the roomba and remove the motor to see if it is just binded up with lint. If the motor spins with your fingers then test the motor with a power supply to see if it is possibly burnt out. If it works on a power supply then your issue is on the main board and it needs replacing.

Hoover F7410-900 Steam Vac Dual V scrub brushes not working

If the brushes will to spin when you try to turn them by hand remove them from the machine. If the brushes spin ok after removing them the the turbine assembly is seized up and will likely need replaced. If the brushes won't spin when they are removed from machine take the plastic cover off the brushes and clean out the gears.

Help. The brushes on my Steam Vac Spin Scrub

If you don't have the user's manual for the machine, here it is:

Check your system for any obstructions that could possibly causing the problem. Also, remove the brushes and see if there's a problem between the brushes and the motor.

The reason for the brushes to stop when it is above any surface is there is a switch in the handle that stops the brushes so it dont burn your motor up it may have a faulty switch.

Brushes are not moving at all

There should be a switch to adjust the speed of the brushes. if it is off the brushes will not spin. The only time the brushes are supposed to spin is when the handle is tilted back, and the switch is on.

Brushes not spinning....

My status light came on, the vac beeped twice and stopped. I noticed my brushes weren't spinning. I took an eyeglass screwdriver and took off the center screw that holds on the brushes. I cleaned the shaft that the brushes spin on. replaced brushes and it works great! I just did this now and it is still running. my status light problem is fixed my roomba is 4 years old and I am on my 2nd battery. Seems to have fixed the problem. FYI it was wrapped with hair, dirt and it was greasy.

Spin brushes spin freely on steam vac when not attached to cleaner indicator screen not dirty speed selector is in high position brushes are clean spin brush indicator when brushes attached to machine...

If this is a Hoover Steam vac, the turbine which drives the brushes is bad. If not a Hoover, then what is it, they are different, need brand and model number.

Brushes not spinning after change out

I got my brushes spinning by moving them while the unit was running. For mine it seems that they got stuck from sitting. The brushes move from the air driven motor unit. This works from the vacumm that is being put through the machine. I just spun the brushes while the unit was turned on. Don't get your fingers caught.
