Can you provide the exact Make, Model and Kenmore model number? ..........

Kenmore model numbers use the format ###.######## with the first three digits of 110 for Whirlpool manufactured machines.........

The model number on top load washers is usually found by lifting the lid and looking above the tub.

The Fixya numbers are Stock Numbers.

Since basic top load direct drive, top load electronic and front load washers are very different, the actual Model Numbers are necessary to correctly diagnose the problem.

Slipping on direct drive washers is usually caused by a damaged / broken Motor Coupler or clutch.

If yours is a direct drive machine, see the following:

I am having trouble replacing my belt on my Kenmore 70 series

i've got them down to 10 minutes, but here goes. remove the bolts going into pump, but do not remove pump . remove the transmission bolt with the spacer and this is where you push the belt through and around pulleys.. this is a little more difficult. you will need to take off the yoke spring and move the transmission pulley around until the spin control magnet catches for spin. it will begin to take pressure off of clutch. you will need a long screwdriver or something like it to apply pressure down on the clutch plate this is to allow to to slip the belt thru the bar the spring came off of and under it.. you can then pull the belts around all pulleys and put everthing back in its place and your done...

My Kenmore 70 series is 18 years old. It will not

Hello. Since your machine is 18 years old and the agitation/spin is costly to repair I would definitely recommend a replacement washer.

Kenmore series 70 washer will only fill with water.

I recently had this problem. It was found that the main drive belt broke and the washer would fill but not spin, agitate or drain. I replaced the belt and everything worked again. A defective or disconnected cover switch would also cause the same problem.
