Question about Cameras

1 Answer

PowerShot A530 It takes digital images and transfers them via the memory card to the computer. The images all remain on the card and the computer. The camera loses some of the images in the middle of the set giving the message: Imcompatible JPEG format. So, on reviewing my pictures, there may be two good images, then five or so clicks over this message (each click representing a 'lost' image) then the later images appear. Help!

Images are not shown while connecting to the computer from my canon Powershot A530

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Images no longer download to the computer from the camera via USB cable. Blue light flashes and camera says it is transfering but nothing is happening. Program Manager says that Cameralaunch* file is not...

Not sure what is causing your error, but have you considered taking out the memory card and inserting it into your computer? You can manual transfer the pictures from that. Hope this helped!

Hi I have a Canon Powershot A530 but if I want to take photo's it says card locked?

Take the memory card out of the camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How do I download pictures to the computer

You need to have the cable and directly connect it to your computer. Or... just simply take out the memory card on your cam and use a card reader and transfer data on your computer

I try to take photos with Canon powershot A530 but it keeps saying memory card locked. What do I do and what does that mean?

Umm, take out the memory card from the camera and there should be this small lever at the side of the card that shifts up and down. Shift it out of the "locked" mode.

A little hand with a no sogn through it and the word busy

The busy sign generally comes when:
Image is being recorded to the memory card, or playback mode is starting up.

It possible your memory card is full, please therefore down load your pictures and try again after erasing and reformating the memory card..
Alternatvely, please also reset all the camera ands menu settings to default.

Hope it works for you.

Cannot transfer files from computer back to Canon Powershot A530

Your camera is designed to be a source of pictures, not a destination. If you want to copy pictures to a memory card, you need to use a card reader and not a camera.

Why not use a separate memory card reader/writer instead, it's pretty affordable nowadays and you can drag and drop image files on the fly...

Sometimes the digital camera mass storage driver hangs while in usb access which stops multiple file transfers. You can try and reinstall it if you don't want to use an external memory card reader/writer...
