Download 'ccleaner' from filehippo.com & run it & remember when u run it, only check the temporary files, recycle bin, recent documents....
this might speed up ur notebook...
If you are using XP or Vista, you have this. You can access the boot menu by loading your MSCONFIG. During the boot up your computer issues a time out to find new hardware and software. You can short this time to boost your startup speed.
1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type msconfig
4. In the system configuration utility, click either BOOT tab.
5. In the boot menu, change the default setting for Time Out from 30 to 5 seconds.

Slow shutdown HP Pavilion dv7

There are a number of reasons that may causing your HP computer running slow to shut down or start up, but generally two factors: outdated hardware or poor system maintenance. For hardware part: you can get more RAM, higher CPU etc. For system part: there might be a lot of junk files, caches, errors etc out there, about 80% slow HP issues are caused by this reason, in this case you can rely on http://www.speeduphp.com/ to free detect and fix related issues. Is the reaction time slow like opening up apps? Is it reading all the ram installed? And if all that is fine then there might be a program in the backround taking up your memory

I need to reboot my pavilion ze2000

You might want to download and run Malware Bytes on your machine to attempt a quick cleanup otherwise this link will take you to the page on the HP site for your model, about halfway down the page you'll see a link to order recovery discs.
