Question about Whirlpool GT4185SK Microwave Oven

Microwave Not Working

Our microwave is about 1.5 years old, and we've never had a problem with it. The light is on, clock is displayed and we can enter a cook time and it acts like it is working (turntable is turning, sounds like it is working, light goes on).
But for some reason, it isn't heating anything. I put a cup of water in for some tea, and heated it for 2 minutes, 3 different times. After each time, the water was still cold.
Any idea what is wrong? I can't believe it isn't working, since it is relatively new.
Thanks!

I have a 12yo Sharp r-430cs microwave. The LED is not displaying all the "lights" in the numbers/alpha readouts. It is missing a lot more of the readout than it is showing. Everything else is working

Go to Sharp's website and check availability of the clock/timer readout board. Being that old you may not be successful, but it;s worth a try.

Microwave stopped working

Probably a problem with the door latch safety system. This happens every so often with our microwave, which is over 25 years old, and otherwise works perfectly.
If yours is new, it may still be under warranty. If not, there are places that specialize in fixing microwave ovens.
If it is an older, or less expensive oven, it might be time for a new one.

Was working fine, punched in time to cook, hit start ...it ran for a second and then just went dead. No light, no display Microwave is 10 years old but never had a problem before

If the microwave control panel doesn't light up, then your fuse is blown. unplug the microwave. unscrew the vent grill, (2) screws at the top of the microwave. then you should see 1 screw holding the control panel. after removing that screw, gently push up then out. there should be a metal plate on top of the control panel. remove that plate and the fuse will be in that opening. remove the fuse and check for continuity across the fuse. Replace fuse and microwave should begin working.

Sharp R-510 FK dangerous noise

Hello. To me, it sounds like something is stuck to the inside of your cavity and it is arcing, as you are seeing a bright flash, and hearing it. I would take apart/clean everything inside the cooking area, something is causing a problem in there. Usually just a good cleaning is all it needs, as the debris is making a focus point for the energy. Try putting a small glass of water, only 1/4 full, and watch while you start it, to see where the arcing is, it won't hurt anything for a second or 10.

Hope that helped, and thank you.
