As you say that, you are able to go online with the modem, connect your modem- router and laptop witha cable and check if you are able to go online with the router wired first, if yes, then the w/ls settings has to be checked..open your w/ls network connection, remove your preferred wireless network and then try to reconnect again and check.. if you are not able to gon online wired with the router, disconnect power cables from modem- router , wait for 10 sec, and reconnect it , wait till all the lights come up and then reconnect, check if you are able to go online if not your router has to be reconfigured,,
plz check and revert back in case of any issues

Best solution is no solution.
I've been having the same problem for a while now. Even replaced the router with a newer WBR-2310. Same issues after 4 months.
I have done all that I could and even reported it to D-Link without results.
Seems to be a common occurrence.
I have two machines hard wired and one on wireless. I use VPN for work.
It's a real pain to get disconnected in the middle of doing remote application support.

try this plug up a line to laptop to modem to check to see if you can get connected if so then make sure you are on the same network and if so then call comcast to help you setup the laptop wireless settings in sound like the settings online doesn't have the laptop enable to accept the laptop

Make sure to install the USB adapter's driver and utility. If it's installed, you need to use the Belkin WLAN Utility to connect to the wireless network. You should be able to find the signla coming the router and you can connect to it

Reset the wireless router by removing the power cord from the back of it for 30-60 seconds, then plug the power back in wait for 2 mins then try to reconnect again.
If you get no joy please post back for aditional advice.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
