Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Hi I had a Pioneer Class D Mono Amp GM-D8400M and a Pioneer enclosed 1200W D/V 4ohm-TSW307D4 installed by car audio company. After 4 days I took it back to them cause it was not working and they **** that I blew the amp & sub up. They claim that I had been driving it too hard and would not be covered by warranty. This is not true, I had not been playing my music loud and I had not made any adjustments to the amp. Can you plese give me advice as to what to do?

The amp sub needs to be replaced, since you cant get it warranty repaired you have to buy another amp or fix the old one.

I have 2 pioneer 6x9 400w, pioneer GM 6500f 760w amp and a kenwood KFC W1012 sub, how d i get the best sound from these?

pioneer gm 6500 is a 4 ch amp rated at 60w-4 way to small of an amp to run your sub. UNDER-POWERING your sub is more likely to damage spkr than over-powering. my advice, get mono-block to run sub

Hi, you can split the preamp RCAs with Ys available everywhere. The amp input impedance shouldn't cause much load on the head unit. Let us know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Hey i just bought a new pioneer subs 2coils and a kenwood class d 1800 watt how can i connect them to get the clearest sound ?

That amp can run at 1 ohm so if your subs are dual 4ohm then run in parellel. All positives will be conected together and the negetives and then run to the amp.

I have 2 sony xplod 4ohm subs rated 350w rms and 1200w max, i have them in really shallow boxes because i drive a single cab toyota, i know these subs **** but i do also know that they can hit alot harder...

the premier amp is better since it has a better rms rating (360w total or 160w each sub) than the eclipse (280w if you bridge all 4 channels which isn't possible but 140w for each speaker bridging 2 channels per speaker). Neither are going to push your subs but if you get another amp wiring kit and use one amp per sub they will sound a lot better and you could just hook both power wire and ground wires from the bridged channels to the power and ground terminals for the sub. That would be my suggestion since the subs are rated at 350w and each amp is 280w and 320w which will push but not blow the subs.

I have 2 15'' CVRs and a 1200w amp

1 OHM...ONE... sheesh now thats a low resistance for anything... If they are only 500 watts and they are in parallel, series well NO.. your amp puts out wayyyy too much for those speakers.. 1200w versus 500 watts by 2... srill NOT enough "Head room" for it to be safe... about half is all you could expect before Pop.. sound is heard.

4ohm dual VC alpine x sub is actually 3ohm DVC i blew my 2 seperate JL audio g-max 1200w amps. what should i do with these subs?(i have 2) is there any amp that can put out 1000rms+ at a 3ohm load per sub?

Well if it is not dual 4 ohm, i have never heard of a sub with dual 3 ohms. There must be something wrong with the voice coils and if that is not it, I dont know.

Amp connection to pioneer tsw307d4

First of all check impedence of the subwoofer and how many voice coils it is. Go to www.the12volt.com click on subwoofer wiring diagrams then you check the load that your amp is stable at. Then wire it that way. Easiest way is to print out the diagram then take it actually out to the sub and box for reference.

I have just brought a GMD8400M PIONEER MONO BLOCK CAN YOU SEND ME THE DIAGRAMES ON HOW TO INSTALL IT.

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/PUSA/Files/GM-D8400M_OwnersManual1128.pdf
thats the link to the owners manual enjoy.
if you ever want to upgrade to a higher quality amp let me know, for about 300$ i could have gotten you into a 2000 watt RMS mono block class d that is competion grade.

for a 600 watt like what you have i coulda gotten you into it for about 210 - 225
and for the same amp that you bought i coulda done for about 200

pioneer decks are really nice but the amps are only low to middle end grade.

Unsureness of wiring configurations.

Mamola,

Get an amp with at least 200 Watts RMS. The RMS value is what is important about driving Subs. This could be proclaimed to be a 1000 Watt amp. REad the RMS value.

Wiring. It is better to series your Speakers to give them and your amp more reliability,

Get a Mono or Bridgeable amp. If it si bridgeable, BRidge the output as described in the manual you get. Some Amps have a diagram right on the output..

AMP+ to Sub1 +
Sub1 - to Sub2 +
Sub2 - to Amp -

Get a 4 Guage wring kit. Run your power wiring down the Drivers side, and Audio signal wiring down the Passenger side, keep the two separate.
