We have an AR-168D copier which is displaying the message "Maintenance Required, Call for Service." We bought this copier used and it will cost more than the price of a new copier to have it serviced. What does this message mean, and how can we fix it ourselves? Thank you!

It is time to call the telephone number and request maintenance. When the copier gives you a message that it needs maintenance, the machine needs a trained technician to perform maintenance on it. Don't just keep using the copier as you can permanently damage the machine.
What is the error code that is being displayed? Is it displaying "Time for maintenance"? If there is no error code and the copier still works, it means the internal count has got to a factory set meter to have the drum & developer and possibly other part replaced at that time.
Hello sir; This error code require a reset procedure ;
press "#", "*", "clear", "*",these four keys by order, then enter 14 press start. then turn power off and back on.
Make sure what you've got is Sharp's AR168NT and not AR152NT. Sharp mades changes about a year ago to their toner and the chip on an AR152NT will not work with an AR-168D model.
The manual says to turn off and unplug the machine and wait for 10 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on. If this doesn't get rid of the problem contact your sharp dealer/service man.
