Murrym19546 riding mower want move why?

I would believe the mower is ran off a belt and the belt has stretched to the point and needs replacement. Raise the mower up and look under it and see if the drive belt is sloppy or loose.

Install new drive belts and mower still wont move forward or reverse.

Belts dont move mower back and forth, there is a bar that engage the hidrolic transfer, perhaps you move it and you have not tracking power, or, there are a series of rods that actuate the hidrolic, coud be that any of those rods came undone, if any of these to scenarios is happening to you, consider have the hidrolics chec out.
Good luck to you.

Sounds like you have the belt running in the opposite direction. You need to Change the way the belt is routed around the pulleys

Craftsman LT2000 Does not move (wheels do not move). blade engages and works finr

I would lower the deck to the lowes setting and look between the frame and the deck toward rear wheels and check the drive belt it sounds like it is slipping or busted.

The mower with not move! I put it in forward push the gas paddle and it will not move. It just wont move, it has a brake paddle and a gas paddle and brake. All yard machines basicly have the same setup in...

Inspect the drive belt,if it is broken.Under the hood is a list of parts and part numbers.Find the drive belt on there and get a replacement. The package the belt comes in has the diagram for installation on the back.Would not be a bad idea to go a head and change the deck belt if it is ore than 2 years old, while you are under there.

If the belt comes off a riding lawn mower...will it still cut grass

Probably not.

I would expect to find two belts on a riding mower; one to drive the riding lawn mower (lets call this the DRIVER) and one to drive the actual mower part (lets call this the MOWER).

To answer your question one way, if the driver belt is off, it will still cut grass, but you cant move the mower. If the mower belt is off, it will move but not cut the grass.

If your belt is broken, take it to an automotive parts store or garden equipment place for replacement. You might also support a FixYa.com advertiser.

I hope this answers your question. Thanks for posting at FixYa.com and please vote.

My murray 16.5 42' will not go in gear. what to do

If this is an older mower it will most likely have to do with the linkage, it is worn and will create some problems for it to go into any gear. I just had the same problem with mine. If you are able to move the gear shift but the mower is not moving you will need to replace the drive belt. In order to do this you will need to drop the mowing deck to replace the drive belt. If possible you will need another person to assist you in order to speed things up. If not it will take a couple of hours by your self.

First put it in first or second gear and check the tension on the drive belt. If it is loose this will be the tell all sign that the drive belt will need to be replaced before the mower will move. However, most importantly check the adjustment for the tension on the belt. If it is not already adjusted all the way you can adjust it to put more tension on the drive belt allowing it to move again without the hassle of replacing the drive belt. If this does not work do the following.

Check your linkage where it goes to the top of the rearend and see if it is moving at this location. If it is not moving the lever at the top of the rearend you will need to replace the linkage in order for it to work;.

I was lucky with mine. Once, I replaced the drive belt it started working. I had no reverse.
