There are several possibilities here. Four different boards are involved in the horizontal scan of a plasma tv. The most likely order of failure for what you describe is; SC board, Su and SD, and finally the SS. These are Panasonic's names for what are more commonly known as the Y Main (or Y-Sus), the upper and lower Y buffer boards, and the Z main (or Z-Sus). Sorry I can't boil it down any further for you,... would have to measure voltages, etc.

Try replacing your video cable, if that doesn't work, try using a different input on the T.V. If that doesn't fix it, you may be out of luck with out an extended warranty.

Screen is completely Black in the top half of screen. I'm hearing it may be the upper y buffer board. Is that correct?

Might be. If you wish to get more details about this fault, check the site linked here. It has illustrations to defective plasma display screen. You can compare it to that of your TVs', and can make sure about the fault. All details are given. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

PICTURE FLICKERS ON & OFF & THEN GOES OUT. SOUND STILL ON. TH-50PX75U PLASMA TURN OFF FOR AWHILE & IT MAY WORK FOR AWHILE BUT WILL START AGAIN.

If you have a sound and no picture, especially if it flickers then it rules out the main board and CTRL board being bad. You will want to replace the Y-Main board, but when you replace the y-main board you should always replace the upper and lower ybuffer boards because they can short out your new Y-main board.

Blue screen

Are you using component video cables? If so, check that these aren't loose on either end. Next I'd consider that whatever video cable/input might be bad, and switch cable or cable type... i.e. switch from component to HDMI or vice-versa. Then change up the source (cable box versus DVD player). If you're still seeing blue at this point, the TV internals are the bad.
