Question about Craftsman 20 hp 42 in. Deck Lawn Tractor - CA Model
If the blade does not cut evenly, folllow the step below
The rear tires must be the same diameter i.e. same tread type and the same tire pressure
a. (check it before each mowing).
Level the deck following the instructions in the manual and recheck it occasionally
Make sure the blade(s) are not damaged and kept sharp, rounded blades tear instead of cut.
Make sure the deck and its attachment points are not bent or damaged.
Drive at a slow walking speed with the engine at cutting speed.
Over lap rows in amounts sufficient to lift and cut the tire tracks from the previous pass.
Cut the grass at intervals that ensures you never have cut more than 1/3rd the total length of the grass.
Make sure the underside of the deck is clean.
Use a blade style that matches the type of grass you most often mow.
If the left handle does not work efficiently, power steering fluid for 30 minutes and it will be okay.
