Yes, the card will either not work on it or then it will.

4 gb compact flash card- e10 shows card error

Your camera was designed and built long before CF cards of that capacity had even been envisaged. Your cameras internal hardware was therefore never designed to handle CF cards of a capacity greater than 1GB and could never have been tested (before going into production) on anything higher than the largest capacity then available of 512MB, which still enables your 4MP camera to store hundreds of images even at the highest quality setting.

In practice, your camera *might* work with a maximum capacity of 1GB, although in practice the E-10 had problems handling the 1GB MicroDrives (an obsolete type of CF card containing a miniature hard drive). Take a gamble on a regular 1GB CF card, or play safe and stick to 512MB cards. At least with the latter there are millions of them lying unused and worthless these days and you can usually get them for zilch by asking on your local FreeCycle/Freegle groups.

You have a great camera which is still capable of producing excellent images, but as it's now a twelve year old design you have to accept that the hardware has some limitations.

How do i get my Olympus D560 to use an xD M+ memory card? I keep getting card error message.

Hi,

The Olympus compatibility chart on their website says that your camera works with type M and M+ sizes 256MB - 512MB.
The chart also says 256MB - 512MB for type H and 16MB - 512MB for standard xD cards.
It looks like the largest size xD you can use of any type is 512MB.
The D560 is quite an early digital camera and it is not unusual to have card size limitations.

Picture card 16MB

Your Oly uses xD memory which is made by Fuji and others but apparently your camera is limited to 512MB cards so check with any supplier to ensure you are not buying something you cannot use.

When i put my 1gb type m+ in to my c-160 camedia camera it says error.

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is a 512mb card without the letter M, M+ or H in front of it. The 1gb card is not compatible.

Memory card

Hi!

Maximum memory size for your camera is 256MB (according to the manual). However, some users claim that the camera can support up to 512MB. To be safe, just use a 256MB card.

Good luck and have a nice day!

CARD ERROR

Hi, don't know if this is any help, but i had the same problem with trying a 1gb card, i think that this camera will only accept up to a 512mb! If you go higher it will not accept it. 512mb is highest memory card you can go with this camera! Take care and good luck. Kerry
