Question about Maytag Performa PAV2200
My maytag proforma washer speratically fills with hot water and rinses with hot water instead of cold and no the hoses are not mixed. It did this when I bought it and they told me it was impossible. I figured a sensor was geting stuck, it worked normally for about a year untill today. I shut off the hot water valve and tested it. Cold water came in when set on hot and no water came in when set on cold. Help!!

It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed. Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed. Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.

This sounds like a cold water supply problem that's usually caused by a problem at the water inlet valve. First, remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlet valve. Make sure they are not clogged with rust or debris. Next, check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will need to be replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helps and best wishes.

It is very possible for it to be a valve failur as these machines have a temperature control incommon, It recieves voltatge through the temp control.
