How do i get my hp w2007 monitior out of sleep mode

no PC stated or OS.
is this VGA, DVI or HDMI?
guess VGA. and its matching cable.
there are 2 sleeps, on old monitors.
the PC sleeps the monitor by disabling the 2 sync,. wires
HORZ and VERT,
the display shows, NO SIGNAL when this happens.
2008 (your monitor is 2008 , can be)
older monitors , have built in sleep, called also power saver TIMER. (push menu button on monitor)
read page 4-5 in your free HP manual.
PDF page 31.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00834092

(aobut 1/2 do not have LED back lamps this year)
also this monitor has CCFL back lamps that by now
all go: most are dead now, used every day 8 hours per day.
1: dim
2: yellow
3: dead
4: or works 1 day , minute or week then not. (random)

if the pc tests ok on newer monitor, then its not the PC
if the Monitors fails on other PC , turn off power saver inside.
if the CCFL is dead, shin a flashlight on the screen, see data.?
if yes, the CCFL lamps are DEAD. (now or soon or whenever)

The monitor will go into sleep mode, and when first booted up will not register anything and goes to sleep. Have tried re-booting, checking the chords, plugging and unplugging them in. To no avail it...

No pc stated just monitor. (not even desktop or laptop) stated.
no OS stated, ether.
so ill answer in wide generic ways....
all computer are a problem, since days of Mr. Allen Turning to now.
ive done 43years of them just puters.(and other big systems MIL)
no person on earth can answer that common question
gee no pc stated,! nor can we lay blame until its fixed can we. ever.

3+billions of transistors. mine here typing now.
4,800,000,000, and friends, lots of other things to fail even LCD
its not a toaster or 4 banger calculator, at all.
its COMPLEX but 1 of those 2 boxs or cable are bad. sure.
(viewed in the MACRO)

sleep? how do you know it is sleep.
the screen showed that. text said SPEEP?
is the screen totally dead. (that is not sleep if true)
is the screens OSD button dead?,
the only clue i have here is one word, REGISTER (good word just too few)
so the screen never ever shows any text or HP logo ever
booting with monitor on for 5min. power on PC, see words?
no text ever...so.

then push the monitors.
Select menu buttons on front of monitors. and the OSD pops does it , it must....!!! see image below (mine is Viewsonic, near new)

there are many simple tests here.
  • try you monitor on any other PC
  • or try you pc on any other monitor
easy no.?, just 1 or 2 tests and bam, who's bad.
called the process of elimination..
but OSD is first. no matter what,.

if the screen tests ok,, (display tests and its buttons)
then the PC is problematic, (1/2 the battle won)
the first thing to do (tell me what pC) but turn off all sleep
modes in the CONTROL PANEL + POWER SETTINGS>
do that first. if you can even get the screen to work.

A pc never boots to sleep so.....
the PC can have 2 VGA jacks on the rear.
the PC can have DVI jacks, using those are you
try them all yet?
if you test the PC and it works and the screen works the cable is bad.

omg that screen is new, its even sold now at walmart.
not cheap either, too much, kinda
this is a modern 22" screen, LED>
and do not just go bad, is the power pack there and correct?
if the OSD screen is dead, check power first.

this is the Monitors brain, it works even with the PC dead.

the button is marked menu or select. this is test1.
osd-1z31dkbg41o2owghj0fas5br-1-0.jpg on my monitor ,heck all 2004 up
it tells you SLeep mode when the PC goes to sleep mode
or shows Power saver mode. live on the screen.
screen power on first sure.

all ways to go black done here.

Hi latly i must unplug and replug my monitor in many many times before i can get the screen to start up, and this morning ive been trying for hours and its ot coming on .. any ideas

Hi

To rule out a monitor or a VGA card issue you can do 1 of 2 things

1) try your monitor in somebody elses PC, if it works fine then your VGA card is faulty

2) Try somebody elses monitor in your PC and if this works then your monitor is faulty

If your monitor is faulty it may be that the VGA lead ( cable screwed into the back of the monitor which screws into your PC, may need changing Alternativley it the wire in the monitor is hard wired i.e. you cannot remove it you may need to purchase a new monitor

Hope this helps

Dell 22" monitor goes black

Hello,

Your monitor probably has bad capacitors now. Bring it to a local electronic repair shop and have the monitor tested. They can easily replace any bad capacitors.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

My hp w22 monitor turns on 4 about 2 seconds then

w22 monitor connected to what ,my guess the vga cable
is the PC on,? what PC is it, with VGA port
is the PC making sounds, it must, the fans must work
2 to3 in desktoop
1 in the laptop (VGA on rear, most)
test the monitor on a good PC yet,be super easy, why not do that.

the manual is here, read that?
as you can see its 12 years old,, and may have ccfl tubes, bad.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00771554

ccfl tubes when 5 to 10 years old fail
turn yellow
black
dim
or stobe
or are good one day not next or hour by hour or minute
a fact.

save all this pain, pick it up go to good PC and test it.
why wait, and even risk PC damage ,guessing as most do untrained.

Flashing screen when i first turn on my SamsungSyncMaster 2232 bw

I had a similar problem with my LCD computer screen. I took it apart and noticed a capacitor that was raised up on the flat end and appeared to be leaking a substance. Replaced it with a similar capacitor and works fine, for three years now.

Black space on the right side of the monitor

NO PC told ,NOR OS NOR..
no connections told VGA or DVI,????????????
vga must be hand set in OSD to get
THE black space right side GONE AND correct?
one just moveS the oSD BUTTON to vga horz position and move it to the right cured.
HORZ, UP /DOWN VERT UP/DOWN GAIN OR HORZ AND VERT POSITION, 4 SETTINGS IN FACT
GAIN SPREADS THE RASTER , POSITION ONLY SHIFTS IT.

DVI is automatic digital correction. so must be VGA FAILING.I guess set wrong. VGA is pure RGB analog signals.
SOME MONITORS TRY TO GET AUTO VGA SCALED RIGHT BUT FAIL. SO WE DO IT BY HAND. VIA OSD.
VGA SCALERS LOVE TO FAIL FOR DECADES AND IS NORMAL.
THE MANUAL I READ IS VGA /DVI
AND WE ALL KNOW SOME ARE VGA ONLY. SUB MODEL CODES ?

GUESS YOU MEANT RIGHT SIDE IS BLACK VERTICAL BAR.
NOT THE CLASSIC CASE BELOW AS MOST ARE NOW CCFL DEAD.

not one word on how big is this spot
1 pixle
1/2 of he screen, "
CCFL lamps burned out on all these now or just 1/2 of them.
not posting photo of failing screens is no good here.
i can name 25 things ugly screens can and size matters
lines, impact damage, CCLF dead or .1/2 of them.
the monitor can be tested on a 2nd good PC, if fails there the monitor is bad.
2004 made and record life span of 13 long years amazing
most burned out in 2009 , used for 5 years 10 hours eachday
a good run it was.
shine a flashlight at black screen PC running,
and see data there good, the CCFL are toasted.
