Sorry I don't have a solution but have a similar problem. I replaced the steering pinion gear in hopes that would resolve the problem, but it didn't. The steering pinion gear is located at the bottom of the steering shaft and turns the steering gear. Looks like the steering gear needs to be replaced as well. The nuts securing the steering gear are accessible in the same area as the pinion steering gear. I am going to order a replacement steering gear and attempt to replace it.

Im having the same problem with my Troy Built Super Bronco riding mower and I have replaced both gears and still had the problem. So after investigating this i have found that where the steering rod comes through the frame it has reamed the hole out, so there is now to much play allowing the gears to not line up correctly. I am now trying to fabricate a thin metal plate to slide up the rod at the frame to keep it from moving. Hope this helps.

Power sterring noise

Check your power steering fluid level. If low will cause unit to whine when turning left or right. If fluid level has gone very low you will need to bleed system. With car jacked up start engine and turn your steering wheel all the way left then right a few times. Good Luck Friend.

Sounds like you have striped out your steering box. I would start there as long as everything is hooked up as it should be.

I can not turn my ignition switch i turn the steering wheel and it lock up on me

Wheel pressure on the sterring column will prevent the key from turning to start position, Try turning the wheel hard to the left to release the pressure before turning the key to start . If that doesnt do it then try to the right.
Before turning car off make sure the wheels are straight or take your hands off of the sterring wheel before you turn your key to the off position.
Lots of luck Jack
