Vestax PDX 2000 motor going crazy problem

Those solutions didn't help me. I've tried this one with placing a tape, and **** is working even worse, than before the "repairing. The platter usually goes 1/4 spin forward and 1/4 spin backward. Ain't responding then to "start/stop" button. Dunno what's wrong... . Any solutions, how to repair it ?

Hey, it will work with the tape solution but you gotta pay attention to the light metallic circle which is used by the light sensor (the small black one with cables on it) to estimate motor movement - first time i opened it and did the tape thing to the black rubber circle i eventually touched the light metallic circle and i think that caused it not working for me too
the light metallic circle must be totally clean and plain, do your best, but be sensible

after 6 hours of trying and figuring it out, my turntable runs now for half an hour without any problem, also reverse and pitch is working perfectly, gonna stop that test now and will report how long it worked for me without failures coming up again ;)

I just tightened the motor mounting screws and that fixed my issue. Bass vibrates things loose. ;)

Hi, have been given a vestax pdx 2300 turntable and the motor is acting crazy, do i replace motor or is it an internal roblem?

Is there a speed control switch? UNPLUG and try spraying contact cleaner into the speed control. IF that doesn't solve it, then back to the manufacturer.

I have problem with tonearm on my vestax pdx 2000 turntable , no connection with needle , but when I make contacts of the needle wet it sometimes help a bit , but I should do it always to make it work. ...

I'd be checking the weight and height settings of the tonearm. Heres a link to the manual for the deck. There's instructions in there about how to setup up the tonearm properly. Don't be afraid to experiment with it. Just remember, too much weight will wear out your vinyl really quickly. Not enough weight will sound like **** and skip easily. Have fun!

Vestax pdx 2000 motor problem

This is a really common fault with this model of TT. I've just repaired a pair of them with the same problem.

You need to remove the bottom cover of the deck then take the round cover off the bottom of the motor assembly. Be really careful with that, delicate sensitive stuff inside. Once you remove the screws use a small flat blade screwdriver to lift it free of the rubbery glue that seals and holds it in place.

Once removed, in the centre of that cover is a small black rubber cirlce about 6mm in diameter that the shaft of the motor rotates on. The problem causing all of that erratic platter movement is with this small black circle.

The solution I found was to use double sided tape to hold this part in place. This serves two purposes. First, to stop the part from moving off its required location, Secondly, to raise the part up slightly from the bracket that it sits on. Layer the double sided tape up so its the around the same thickness as the small black rubber circle. Then place the black cirlcle into its original location bedding it firmly into the tape.

A tiny small dolop of grease on the end of the motor shaft. Replace the motor and bottom covers. Bingo! The decks a-go-go!

Happy mixing!

I carnt remove the turntable platter can anyone help

The platter needs a drop of oil as the platter and motor shaft is a machined fit, Via brass upside down v as the platter will be reversed ie: a A WITH NO LINE . You can place two plastic wedge shaped blocks ,one on each side of the platter with even pressure and work up.

Vestax PDX200 platter keeps changing direction

Hi everyone,

I had exactly same problem with my Vestax pdx 2000 mk2 TUNETABLE.

The solution involves some careful screwdriving but is fairly simple....
You need to take the motor out and carefully take it to pieces, the problem is caused by a tiny piece that needs to be put back into place. Of course you will loose your warranty but its cheaper and faster then getting new motor or sending to repair.

If u need help don't hasitate to email me: jazzbin@o2.pl
i can explain every step and send u step by step pics of the repair.
