XM satellite radio - Audiovox Xpress 136-4345. It has developed a high-pitched whine. The whine occures as soon as the receiver is turned on, even before it has booted up completely. The whine can be heard no matter what it is plugged into - home speaker unit or car cradle.
I've reset it to factory default - still hear the whine. Had XM send a refresh signal - still hear the whine.
Is it worth fixing? Where would I go to get it fixed? It's several years old (it doen't have an FM function!) and is past its warranty.
Thanks for any help or advice you can give...

hi Mr.Frazier....is the xm radio hardwired installed? if it's a yes you have to go to a professional(bestbuy, retailers) to have the connection check.. the problem is not within the xm radio..it's on how it was installed or set up...
If the radio was not built..well, that's much better we just have to check the audio connection from you're xm to fm radio (make sure to check if what band it is connected..such as AUX,CD etc.) if there's a sound but you're only getting preview channels..refresh must be send on the radio...you can call xm to ask for that OR do it online at www.refresh.xmradio.com and type in your 8 digit radio I.D just have to follow the activation instruction faithfully...Godbless!

Its probably time to just replace it. They are not worth repairing. If you contact XM customer service they may offer you one at a discount. They replaced one of mine for $20. I thought that was a fair deal.

I have same problem and sure connect did not help.
The unit works fine otherwise except will not send a signal to my car radio.
I will try removing the battery today & if this does not work I will do t paper clip reset in the battery compartment.
