This is a really simple problem and easy to solve. Unfortunately the videos you've recorded cannot be changed back because they have been recorded in Time Lapse mode.
With the camera switched on in Video Mode turn the control dial on the back (this is the dial to the right of the LCD screen). This will change the settings from TIME LAPSE to STANDARD. There are actually 6 different modes but the best one for normal videos is STANDARD. There is a HIGH RESOLUTION setting, however these record fewer frames per second (fps) so whilst the quality is better per frame, there are half the amount of fps so the the movie will look at bit jerky.
It's really easy to accidentally twist the dial when holding the camera, so always check the icon in the top right of the LCD before recording to make sure its just a yellow camera in a yellow square.
This should be problem solved for all future recording.

SOURCE: canon G9 no power
The problem with the Canon Powershot G9 is that there are two small screws that work themselves loose over time and then fall out of their holes inside the camera. These screws bounce around until they cause the fuse to blow and then the camera no longer powers.
You need to have the fuse replaced, or you can replace the DC/DC board much more easily, and then replace the screws and secure them with something like 'Locktite 242' so that they don't pop out again.
We are an actual digital camera repair shop, and can do this repair for you! All you do is go to our site and enter "G9" into the search box. The first result should be the "No Power Repair" for only $90 which also includes the return shipping of the camera to you!
I hope this helps, and if we can help with your repair please let us know.

Testimonial: "Knows this model camera...few out there do. I'll be in contact soon. Thanks!"
The best place for service for the Powershots is: www.camerasandparts.com They only specialize in service and repairs for the Powershots and they know their stuff, they're amazing if you need service for one of these models. They don't have any service package for a powershot for over $100 including the repair, plus the service for the camera, and even the shipping back. Try them, they do amazing work and that's where most people head for service for the Powershots, good luck

A common problem on the G9 is they get a loose screw inside and often it renders the camera useless with no power after that common short. There's a site you can get these fixed very reasonably and they include the correction to those internal screws so it won't keep happening. The site is: www.camerasandparts.com The do superb work on the canons for about half of what canon wants to fix these cameras. Good luck with the problem on yours.
