Whirlpool Imperial gas dryer won't heat up.

There are two thermal cutoffs. If you pop open the top of the dryer and find the heating element the bigger one is mounted directly on top of it and the other one is located below it. Those are the thing to check first. You can test with a multimeter set to test continuity. If those are bad that means that the exhaust vent is getting clogged. Those run about 34 bucks for the set. The other piece to check is the element itself. You can test that the same way. Those run between 50 and 70 bucks. Good luck.

I have a whirpool dryer that is not heating model number wed5550sq0 Imperial series. I took the heater coil off. is that the only thing it could be?

On the heater element housing is 2 limits.
If either of these are open the dryer will not heat but it will run.

My Whirlpool dryer LGT7848AQO imperial series does not heat up. HelP!

Check the fuse/circuit breaker box, you need 220/240V to heat the dryer. If there is proper voltage going to the dryer, then you will need to goe inside and check the limiters and element.

This problem is almost always a broken belt. Yes you can do it yourself.
Go to repairclinic. com and put in your model number for the exploded view of your dryer. Locate the belt part number and belt orientation.
