Question about Biostar MCP6P-M2 Motherboard - v6.0, NVIDIA GeForce 6150, Socket AM2, MicroATX, Audio, Video, 10/100

1 Answer

I want to re-install XP, but neet setup disk.

I want to re-install XP, but apparently I need Biostar's setup disk to re-install the OS. I tried using the normal routine of Microsofts install method but it won't work.

I go to Biostar's MCP6P-M2 driver page but it doesn't show the setup disk or exe file to create a bootable disk.

Thanks for your help.

Setup error & xp os suported error

You might be having a damaged disk. If you are installing windows XP, replace the installation cd. If you have windows XP already installed, a damage to your hard disk caused the error. You will therefore have to use the installation CD to scan the disk to fix errors, or install windows XP afresh.

I have a new G31-M7-TE version 6.7 Biostar MB. When I try to install XP it always errors out at some point where it is initializing the drivers so it never install XP. I have an erlier version of this...

I'll bet the problem lies with the hard disk drive. Suggest you download the manufacture's hdd setup software. Example, for a Seagate and Maxtor drive download; SeaTools for DOS. Here is the link; http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools
Every manufacture has their own setup software that runs in a DOS like environment. Download either the bootable floppy disk software or bootable CD software. Run the software on you're drive and than install windows. Windows XP should install with out a hitch and load.

No boot sector on hard disk - No bootable devices - strike F1 to

AFAIK all XP disks were bootable so maybe check your bios options.
If they are correct and it still does not boot them goto bootdisk.com and download the floppy setup disks for XP. You could then set your laptop to boot from floppy and install xp from there.

Biostar GF 7025-M2 v.6.0 Motherboard Drivers For Windows XP Home

yes there are seperate versions for 32bit and 64 bit . check on majorgeeks.com for the drivers, also check cnet downloads for drivers. If the mother board is more than 5yrs old you might not find the 32 bit drivers on the manufacturer's website. also check microsoft , if they have any drivers for that motherboard. good luck

Problem installation on Windows XP

Three things
1) Do you have enough memory at lest 1Gb
2) Is it a full genuine Windows disk. Some disks out there are a mixture of different things and some cannot find hard drive
3) Try another setup disc and see if it works
Sometimes the disk has a read fault
One last thing to try is Reset BIOS to default
