When microwave is set and start is pushed sparking occurs up in the area of the right side wall and immediately shuts off

Dear Joe,
As a retired fire fighter, I can give you a good answer.
You have a problem that should likely require a new microwave.
You have an electrical short inside it, an if you keep trying, it will soon catch fire, and burn.
Sorry for the bad news.
Some cities & towns have shops that repair microwaves, you may wish to see if your does, remembering to ask the cost of the repair first.
God bless your efforts.

This is not good, the magnetron is arcing because metal is exposed, this will eventually destroy the magnetron making the oven useless. I strongly suggest it get looked at for safety and potential fire hazard.

Fire inside oven during operation on right side metal plate

Arcing is caused by the build up of grease that is converted to carbon. Clean the baked on carbon from the oven cavity. If regular cleaning doesn't remove the carbon, sand it away and touch up with a similiar color paint.

I would certainly take it to a repair shop if you want to try and salvage it. Until then keep it off and unplugged.
