Question about Astar LTV-27BG 27 in. LCD Television
My Astar will not turn on!
Astar LCD tv are famous using cheap capacitors in their power supply board as componnents,these capacitors are leaking gases,they bulges up,puff up.That why one ur tv is dead.The other tv is unstables changing channel on it own.U know basic electronics,and soldering?Take both of ur tv aparts.Searches all around the power supply board.Look for these bulges up,puff up capacitors,replaced these capacitors.Both ur tvs will work normal again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy two whole refurbish power supply boards to replaced each one of ur tv.

eclip66 is right, ive opened up my Astar TV aswell and have taken a look at the power supply, all of the capacitors he mentioned have bubbled tops (means they are blown) or are leaking their electrolyte all over the board.. in addition to the capacitors he mentioned, there are 3 other near the center of the board with little plastic disks covering them.. i checked these using an ohm meter and found they were also bad (they charged WAY to slowly and were also leaking) so in addition to the 4x 3300uf 35v, 8x 2200uf 25v, 7x 1000uf 10v.. you need 3x 100uf 450wv caps as well. Im in the process of locating some replacement caps and am about to change them out, if this solution does not work, and i find more problems ill be sure to make an updated post.. happy soldering!

Symptoms of a Defective or dying Power supplies on LCD TVs.
1. Light(s) on the front panel are behaving not normal example, blinking, amber color or not steady, fainting, etc.
2. TV not turning ON properly.
3. TV turns OFF by itself.
4. Needs to be unplug to many times to make it work.
5. Humming or high pitch noise heard through speakers or at the back of the TV.
