If you dont know the password you will need to remove the cmos battery for a few minutes or set the jumper on the motherboard if it has them.

Two thumbs is a little harsh....

If you have a bios password and are locked out, unless you have tried password as the password and been lucky, you will need to clear the bios password, and to do that you will need to remove the cmos batery

here is your laptops support page, the manual and instructions for changing the cmos batery are on the left http://support.euro.dell.com/support/dow... D620&catid=-1&impid=-1

Removing the PSWD jumper is the correct method of clearing the BIOS password. Removing the battery resets the CMOS.

Remove the power from your computer. Remove the battery. Remove the PSWD jumper. Wait!!!!

Keep power off the computer for at least 30 minutes, overnight is better.

Replace the battery. Plug the computer in. Do Not Reconnect the PSWD jumper.

Now reinstall your operating system and drivers. When finished, restart your system. If everything works and you want to redo the BIOS password, shut the computer down. Unplug the power. Remove the battery. WAIT.

Replace the PSWD jumper. Replace the battery. Plug in the power. Restart the computer, hitting "F2" as it starts....to open the BIOS setup page. Reset your password here. Esc to continue, Yes to save.

Good luck

Bios

If you have lost your bios password, only way out of this is accessing the motherboard and resetting the cmos.
If you access the mothernboard you can reset the bios removing the little coin battery from motherboard for one minute.
There is also a 3 pins bridged contact, near to bios chip, if you move the contact on the other two pins it will do same as removing battery.

Sounds like you tried this, but it's worth a shot again. Remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard and let the laptop sit for an hour, then replace the battery with a new one.

If the only real issue is changing the time and date, you can do this in Windows and it will reset the BIOS clock, too, of course.

If the problem is that the time and date keep reseting, you either have a low CMOS battery or a short on the motherboard that is resetting it.

If all else fails, you might need to flash the BIOS from a floppy disk with the latest BIOS version for your machine to reset it and go from there.

PS: BIOS reset problems on laptops are sometimes due to power problems caused by battery packs going bad; check your battery pack, too, and see if it is working okay.

Good luck...

Toshiba m105 s3004 bios password

i have a Toshiba satellite M105-S322 and all i had to do is open the ram compartment and pull up the plastic sticker or whatever you want to call it between the motherboard and the ram. There is a jumper called "CMOS_CLR1" use a screwdriver to short out the pins and it clears the CMOS.
