Question about E-Machines emachines (emachinees) CD-ROM Drive

1 Answer

When doing a search we are diverted to some unrelated page. Our favorites list connect ok, but if we are trying to find a specific site or subject, we are often diverted and cannot find a way to access the information we are seeking. We had the computer checked by the local tech, but he did not fix the problem.. Any ideas?

Is it possible to let me know the browser you are using? like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome....etc. It's hard to assume your problem and the root of the cause since this is related to many issues. It's also important to let me know the Search Engine you are accessing e.g. Google or Bing etc....

This is often related spyware, but let's try from the Settings (Internet Setting of your browser).
When Low level Security is implemented on the browser's Settings, the pop-ups, tool-bars and Add-ons are freely accessing without any restriction which result in the diversion of search or sites on the Browsers.
Next, try to check your cookies and caches (you need to deleted them or clear them from the browser settings or using a specific application). When you open up the Browser settings (usually Internet Options/Options) you'll be able to see how to clear and how to delete the history, cache, cookies etc.. as shown below;
When doing a search we are diverted to some - 5a40429.jpg

But this is manual and not everything will clean since the cleaning process will run while the browser is still opened. So for better results, I would suggest you to use a cleaner like Ccleaner.. this time I don't include the freeware because, it's dangerous and without proper instructions, you may loose files or downloaded softwares etc.. If you need it, i'll let you know with full details. The best thing is to run the cleaner after closing all the opened browsers and restarting the system right-away.

Please let me know, with a little details so that I can assist you better. I'll definitely help you fix this.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Well, I tried deleting cookies and so forth, but when I do a search on google and click on a site, I still get diverted to some advertising site, often Florida Traffic, which is merely a list of categories to search. For instance, I entered a search for "when to prune spruce trees," and a nice list of sites came up. however, when I selected one I got a list of sites advertising pruning services. I'm sure there's something I have done wrong, but I just don't know enough about what to do to fix this. I blocked a lot of pop-ups, was that a mistake?

    Well, let's try another trick, please download this.. System & Registry Cleaner (it's from my 4shared account), open the link, click "Download Now" button wait for 20 minutes and again click "Download File Now" link (don't click anywhere except those I mention here, they are only ads). After it's downloaded, please install it, run the program and click "Registry" as shown below;

    Step 1.

    Step 2.

    Step 3.

    Step 4.

    {Note: Please don't run the "Cleaner" before you check the "download" or "temp" or "%temp% folder on the c: drive, there might be some important files, it's also important to run but do it only you are prepared else everything in the download folder (internet explorer's download folder will be deleted) will be lost. Also, close the internet explorer before you click "Run Cleaner"}

After you are done Cleaning, please restart your system and check the condition of your search engine, if the problem persists, download this Googlechrome and see if the same problem is also with this new browser or not, if not then you better uninstall the internet explorer, run the registry cleaner and again reinstall it. This will definitely fix your problem. In case the problem is again with this browser, then run a full antivirus scan us using an updated antivirus software.

    Let me know the updates.

    Till then Good luck.

    Thanks for using FixYa.

Unable to open browsers (any) on emachines windows 7

b>All you want to do is view a particular website, but when you open Internet Explorer and type in the web address or click on the page in your Internet Explorer Favorites, the page does not appear. Instead, you read a message announcing that the page cannot be displayed. Through some troubleshooting, you can determine whether the issue is with your connection, the website you are trying to view or Internet Explorer. Once the problem has been identified, it might be an uncomplicated fix.

Find out whether you can view any web pages. Open Internet Explorer and type in the address of a site with which you are unfamiliar. If you need an idea, look around the room and type in a brand name you see, such as Phillips.com" or "Teak.com." The reason for this is that if you have recently visited a site, the "cached" files might appear on your screen and not provide an accurate determination. If you are able to see a new site, the issue is likely with the website you are trying to visit. Check the connection to the modem or router. If you are unable to view any web pages, your connection might have been lost. Check physical connections to see if anything is unplugged. If you are using a wireless connection, verify that it is still working. Unplug the modem. Pull both the power cord and the phone line or Ethernet plug out of the back of the modem and leave it alone for a few minutes. Plug the cords back in and allow it to power up completely. Try the connection again. Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help Click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options or Click start control panel internet options you will see a home page box To Create Page Tabs type each adress on its own line (type in google.com) or your preferred home page and browser below that will be change search defaults click on settings you will see all search Providers Toolbar extensions and Accelerators you have have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them

Click start type cmd press enter you will be in DOS mode type in ipconfig press enter you will see all of your internet connection details or type in your default gateway adress into your internet search should read something like 10.0.0.138 to get an inertnet connection Contact your Internet service provider. A cable, DSL or phone line outage is a common cause for connectivity issues. Delete Internet Explorer's history. Close any open applications and open a new Internet Explorer window. Click "Tools" and then click "Delete Browsing History." Click each "Delete" button, except passwords if you allow IE to retain them for you. Hope this helps.

My internet explor has blocked pages from certain wesites how do i fix?

Depending on the way that the Internet Explorer Web browser's "Security" settings are configured, the browser may be blocking your access from certain pages.

The browser itself (based on information from Microsoft) may have deemed these pages insecure and dangerous, or you may have accidentally blocked the page yourself.

You can stop Internet Explorer from blocking websites by going through the program's "Security" settings page.

Open Internet Explorer.

Click "Tools."

Click "Internet Options."

Click "Security."

Click on the "Restricted Sites" icon and then the "Sites" button.

Click on the name of the website that you do not want blocked anymore, from the list of restricted sites.

Click "Remove." Click "OK" to save your changes and Internet Explorer will no longer be blocking that specific website.

Hope this helps

My school block it how do i find another proxy site

Trick 1. Anonymous Browsing

Use free Proxy Server which allows you to browse the web anonymously and access sites that are blocked. Here is the list of few proxy servers which I came across while Googling..

http://www.proxybrowsing.com/
http://www.hidemyass.com/
http://www.browserjump.com/
http://www.ninjaproxy.com/
http://www.kproxy.com/
http://proxify.com/
http://www.w3privacy.com/
Trick 2. Google Translation

In case if your organization has blocked all the anonymous proxy servers, you can use Google Translator( also called as Google Language Tools) service as your proxy server. Google Translator translate pages from one language to another language. You can surf the blocked web pages by translating them from English to English(or any language which you desire).

Replace WEBSITE with your favorite site address in the following URL and start accessing them

http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en'en&u=WEBSITE
Example: http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en'en&u=http://mgopinath.blogspot.com

Trick 3. Google Mobile Search

Google Mobile search service translates HTML pages to mobile phone browser compatible by removing style sheets and java script. You can use this service to browse the web pages in text only format.

Replace WEBSITE with your favorite site address in the following URL to start accessing them

http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=WEBSITE
Example: http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=mgopinath.blogspot.com

Trick 4. Search Engine Cache

Enter the blocked URL in Google or Yahoo search engines and then visit the cached copy of the page.

If you know any other tricks please leave the information about them as comments

Msntv2 does not work on ebay. it powers off everytime i do a search on ebay

Go to www.skweezer.com. Once there, type in www.ebay.com. It will work. Save your ebay favorite searches as your regular favorites, even though they are going through skweezer. At the bottom of each Skweezer page, there is a place to click to go to a chosen page without the skweezer filter. This will work to go to an Ebay item listing without crashing, if you then wish to do so. Skweezer takes a little getting used to, since the pages have a compressed format, but it will do the job on Ebay and other sites MSNTV2 has a problem with. These are ever-increasing, as the good folks at Microsoft fail to update the units to keep pace with changing technology.

Favorite list on the screen

Internet Explorer favorites are used to save links to sites that you want to visit again. Creating a list of favorites allows you to visit those sites with a single click, rather than having to type the site's URL each time you want to visit it.
