Your best bet is to replace the keyboard. They are cheap (under $20.00) and easy to replace. All other options involve making a bootable flash drive (more complicated and you still have a broken keyboard)

sorry this answer was for a different user with a keyboard problem! I do not know how it got posted on your problem! you can try to borrow a retail copy of XP to do a repair install, when you are prompted for the activation key use the one from your OEM disk not the retail cd. If you do not have access to a retail copy you could try MS support and explain the new HD they should be able to guide you in restoring the activation key

The OS-loading screen is a stong indicator that thee is nothing wrog with your hardware, but it is a driver issue. You need to press F8 as your computer starts up and enter SAFE-MODE.
Windows 7
Using the F8 Method:
  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts you will see your computer's hardware being listed. When you see this information start to gently tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly until you are presented with the Windows 7 Advanced Boot Options screen as shown in the image below.

  3. Using the arrow keys, select the Safe Mode option you want.
  4. Then press the enter key on your keyboard to boot into Windows 7 Safe Mode.
  5. When Windows starts you will be at a typical logon screen. Logon to your computer and Windows 7 will enter Safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you require, and when you are done, reboot to go back into normal mode.
In safe-mode remove & delete the drivers you installed. If you can, revert to your old driver set.

Try going into safe mode upon startup by hitting the F8 button. If it does then hit safe mode to get into your computer. Go to start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Follow the wizard to restore your computer to a date earlier than when you started having problems. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.
