Question about SE Electronics Gemini Professional Microphone

1 Answer

My Gemini is fading in and out. There is no fixed pattern, except that it seems to fade out mostly when I sing into it, then comes back slowly. It may be caused by the fact that I left it in a place for two days where there was humidity.

You will need to dismantle the your Gemini and dry all the component inside the device, may, the humidity as affected some component and causing the device to malfunction, if left to dry and the problem still persist, am afraid to tell you that, you might need to get another unit for replacement, if you still need more advice as regards this, you can drop comment for me to follow up,

Take care.

    Hi, thanks for reply.
You mean dry components with hair dryer, yes?
When you say another unit you mean a new mic, yes?
Do you think it would be worth sending to SE Elec repair centre?

Yes, drying the component with a low medium air dryer, if the problem still persist after the drying, you can send it for repair and if under warranty better, but if not, no problem, just be conscious of the cost, if cost of repair is almost as getting a new mic, go for a new mic, this will keep you rest assured without any problem.

    Take care.

What is the reason for my E701i-A3 failure? All boards were replaced, worked for a minute, and then had the same "fade to black" failure as the first time.

Your back light controller board or the ballasts for them may be bad if they weren't incorporated into the power supply board.

Konica C250 has a faded line on the prints. Prints colors well except for the Faded line.

The developer powder needs to be replace. for whatever color that's faded, wont be the drums.

CAD Trion 6000 Not the best sounding and fades out when you sing loud into it and fades back in when you stop singing .I have 2 of these and the other works perfect with the same cable and mixer.

This possibly could be a moisture problem. Condeser type mics are VERY high impedance elements and any electrical leakage will make them cease working.

Also check that foam wind screen is not hitting the element.

PCN5425R Fading in and out

No It is not the picture tube.
First, I would suspect a bad solder connection (cold solder connection) to find this problem hit the side cassing to see if the picuture goes away or comes back.
Another way is take the back cover off and tap gently on the boards with something not conductive or your hair would look like mine. The most commond section is power supply and neer the Horizontal flyback transformor.
The horizontal transformor look at it, it's a big greyish darty little thing about 3" x 4" and stand up about 4" with a big red wire going out of it. Don't touch it, it has very high voltages, just look what it done to my hair I'm telling you don't touch it along with it's red lead's. Just look to see if it is arking if so replace it.

When you have convegence problem , it is mis aligment of the colours in the genmentry aligments.
I would suspect more in the power supply section.

Panasonic 47" rear projection faded pink square

That is a unique problem. You might make sure that your mirror and lenses are clean and that nothing has fell in the way of the tubes. There isnt anything else that could come to mind that would cause this.

Picture faded to black, came back, faded again and had stayed black.

It seems your set has a loose conection in the high voltage circuits,in fact by now it should have many loose conections in different areas like the power supply and the horizontal deflection circuits,if you are familiar with tv service you can use the information as the first step to take, some of the loose conections are hard to see even for the trained technician but the one giving you this problem should not be hard to see,if you are not too familiar with tv service be safe and call for assistance from a servicer a least for an estimate.
