Here are the printable instructions from the Perego website.
From what I can tell, there are levers on both sides of the grill that you press to flip the grill down to the ground. You can then get to the battery to pull it out and charge it.
Hope this helps!

I would replace the high/low switch and the reverse switch. One time a replaced the high/low switch and the reverse switch quit on me 2 weeks later.
You can also get the Peg Perego Gator Shifter that upgrades the vehicle.
You can get the parts and repair help at this site
They have helped me several times.
Hope this helps

Where the front bully bar is, there is an indent in the middle , enough for your phillips head screw driver to get into, you must undo that screw and there will be a tab on either side of that panel to pull and the front bummer assembly will hinge out towards you, you can then unplug the battery and connect your charger..

SOURCE: How do I hook up
Find the green panel in the front of the gator(the one attached to the brush guard), pry the tabs on each side apart and pull it down toward you. You should then see the compartment that the battery goes to, you will also see a retaining bar in the way. Slide the retaining bar out toward your right and it will come out of the driver side wheel well. The wire harness that attaches to the battery is lying around in there loosely, find it and attach it to the battery, place the battery in the compartment and slide the bar back into place. Then you can close the panel untill it "pops" and you are all set.
