More likely it is the regulator attached to the hose, replace the hose and regulator, easy to do and not very expensive. If this doesn't work, please let me know.

I can't get any burners to light. I have changed tank, regulator, and cleaned burners. When I open regulator all the way and I use match. A small puff then out. It seems simple but can get it to work....

The problem you're experiencing is cause by one of two things. Low gas in the tank or a locked up regulator. To solve the problem, do the following:

To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Since you have done every other thing I would have suggested, try this .....

Turn the tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 10 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow) until it's fully open. Now, the light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to HIGH. Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If co, light the remaining burners the exact same way, starting with the one next to the one you first lit. Now, did all the burners light and do all the flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem. The problem was with the regulator, which was partially closed.

If the above didn't solve the problem, check the burner orifices of the two offending burners for clogs.

Hope this helped you to further troubleshoot & solve the problem. Happy Grilling and thanks for choosing FixYa.

We couldn't get any gas to the burners the other night so my husband replaced the regulator. We got gas to both burners but only reached a max temp of 250 degrees after 45 mins. What do you thing the...

The regulator that your husband replaced, is partially locked up. This occurred when he opened the gas tank valve to fast. It happens a lot with the new OPD Valve tanks. It may have been the problem with the first regulator.

To solve it: Turn the tank's regulator OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow), until the valve is fully open. Then light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to HIGH. Does the flame height look normal? If co, light the remaining burners the same way. Now, do all the flame heights look as they should for being on HIGH? If so, you solved the problem. But, you won't know for sure, until you allow the grill to preheat for at least 15 - 20 minutes.

Always remember to open the tank valve very, very, slowly.

If the above didn't solve the heating problem. Remove and thoroughly clean all the burners, including the ventuuri valve on each burner. Spiders like to build nest in them.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

My Coleman Seirra grill will not get to a temp greater than 300 degrees, even on high. Please advise. Thank you.

Does the flame height, when turned to HIGH on the burners, appear to be lower than normal? If so, it's one of two things:

1. You are low or about ready to run out of gas in the tank. Check gas level in tank.

2. The grill's regulated is partially locked up. Turn the tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the grill first and turn it to HIGH. Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If so. light the remaining burners the same way. Do ALL of the flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Remember to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If none of the above solved the problem and (hint) the burners are clean and not clogged. You need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can purchase one at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. They run about $30.00. Take your old one with you, just for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks and Happy Grilling!!

I bought the Brinkmann 5-Burner Grill Model 810-9520 a little under a year ago and recently have been having problems with the flame. The grill will lite with a strong flame if just one burner is on, but...

hello megan. actually the propane tank is causing this problem. the newer propane tanks have a safety feature built into them to prevent fires and explosions. that is a good thing. what is not so good is that the tanks are now a wee bit tempermental. this is what you now need to do. turn off the tank and unscrew the hose. let the hose sit unattached to the tank for 5 minutes then hook it back up and very s-l-o-w-l-y turn on the gas. That should solve the problem. if it doesn't repeat the procedure. joe

Full tank, very low flow/flame, how do I clean venturi, if this is the problem. Unable tp remove V-shaped tent over burners

I suspect that your problem is related to the grill's regulator. But, there is a solution. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and the burners to high for one minute, then turn them OFF. Also, disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes, After 5 minutes, reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, turn ON and light the burner farthest from the tank, first. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Now, do all the flame heights look normal? If so, you solved the problem.

If it didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can get one at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. Take your old one with you, for comparison purposes.

The V-shaped Tent (also called a Flame Tamer) should just lift up and out. According to your Owners Manual, they are not attached in any way, They just sit there, Once they are out of the way, you can access and remove the burners for cleaning. The Venturi is part of the burner, where it fits over the burner orifice. It will have a slotted opening. It mixes the gas to air, so that you get an even, clean burning flame. Spiders love to build nest in them. An old toothbrush works well in cleaning the Venturi's .

Hope all this info was of some help to you and will get you back grilling real soon. Please let me know. Thanks.

A low flame comes out of my burners. I can not make any adjustments to make it hotter.

Unless, your tank not is really low on gas and your burners really don't need cleaning? Try this:

Turn OFF the tank valve and disconnect the hose/regulator assembly from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow), until the tank valve is fully open. Then light the burner farthest from the tank and turn the control knob to the highest setting. Has the flame height returned to normal on that burner? If so, light the remaining burner(s) the same way. Now, do all the burner flame heights look normal? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember to always turn the tank valve on very, very slowly.

If the above didn't solve the problem, turn the tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose/regulator assembly from the tank and the grill. Then, head on over to your nearest home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories, because you need a new hose/regulator assembly. Be sure to take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Hello. Are you frustrated because your gas grill doesn't get hot enough lately. The problem you are having indicates that you have to go through a procedure called "RESETTING THE REGULATOR". Follow these easy steps:

1. Turn the burners on for one full minute and then off.

2. Next, remove the regulator and the hose from the tank.

3. Then reconnect the tank to the regulator and hose.

4. And very slowly open the tank.

5. Last step is to fire up the burners and start cooking with you new hot flame.

The problem began the first time you opened the valve on the tank too quickly. In the future, always turn the tank valve on s-l-o-w-l-y to prevent this problem.. Joe

Flame is low when turned on highest setting

There are a few causes for that.

1. You are low on propane.
2. Your propane tank is overfilled, and the overfill protection device is restricting gas flow.
3. You have turned off your grill using the propane tank instead of the control valves on the grill. This may also cause the overfill protection device to engage. You can reset this by turning off your control valves on the grill, turn off the propane tank, unscrew the hose from the propane tank, then put the hose back on securely, turn on the propane tank and turn on the control valves.
4. Your burners are very rusty and may be clogged. Clean or replace the burners.
