Question about HP w1907 LCD Monitor

Abnormal monitor switch off

My monitor has suddenly elected to powerdown of its own accord. Fortunately we have two of these monitors in our home and the other one on the system in questions isnt having this problem ruling out the lead or system monitor settings.

Whats causing this involuntery monitor shutdown before I go out and purchase a new one. Thanks in advance

Sounds like a defective monitor. If you detected this within the warranty period I would take it back to where you bought it and have it replaced.

My monitor was just blinking folowing the thunderstom some days back and I tried to replace some 4 capacitors coded C5707,and it comes on but abnormal display and then the replaced transistors burn out...

At this point you may be better off to replace the whole board, the four C5707 are transistors, not capacitor. You need to make sure that there are no cold solder joints around inverter transformers lead, check the tuning caps in the inverter output sections.

Two bright lines on my acer 17" lcd monitor

You have failed TFT driver in the T-CON board, in other word, nothing you can do to fix it without replacing the LCD panel.

My VX924 did the same thing but now displays nothing and power switch light just blinks. According to an answer listed on previous page, it may have bad capacitors. I may have to take a look at them. Viewsonic repair facility examination of this monitor runs $70.

No caps with bulging top. The problem can also be bad inverter circuits or worst case will be the lamps. You need to look real close at the caps first, see example of bad caps and failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

For the monitor that is more than 2 years old, first place to look will be the power supply, look for bad caps with bulging top first, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps; http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
