well its a new game system its not going to work the same ....... the dogs game has been out for a while and D.S i is new .... i have a D.S game that has a sticker on the front that says ABLE TO BE PLAYED IN D.S i......... you may have a game thats not compatible with the D.S i because its older than the games that are new ... try putting a new game in ur new system and then answer bacK THANK YOU

When the nintendogs screen is first coming up, press A,B,Y,X,L,R, at the same time u will get a message for delete history but do it before the title screen shows up.
2. Go to Settings (Little icon on the bottom of the touch screen)
3. Select Pink button
4. Select "GBA Mode" (pink button on the right)
5. Select "Touch screen"
NOTE:
This is mainly affective for GBA games, not DS games unfortunately. If you are really that desperate to play DS games properly, then either hope you can still claim it on warranty and/or buy a brand new DS (maybe even the new DSi).
I think you should take this game back and tell them exactly what has happened. If they have a look and it isn't a game, it might have something to do with your nintendo ds
