Problem for Philips PET724 Portable DVD Player with Screen
Phillips portable player PET724
My player will not start to play any DVD's I put in it. It says no disc.
This started after i fell asleep and it played all night.
I can hear the player spinning the disc but it stops, or keeps spining till I stop it.

- I have a similar problem. My dvd player will continue to spin up and then slow down. it will repeat this definitely until i take the dvd out. It just sits at the main screen. This occurs now with every dvd that i own. - Chevyinf1Jun 23, 2008
- One night the DVD was working just fine, The next night I removed the DVD and put in a new one. That was it. The DVD player would not read the disc or any other disc. It will spin for a bit and then say "NO DISC" It hasn't worked since. I have tried other discs, disc cleaners, that also says no disc, and tapping the top of the cover as sugested by another on this sight. That didn't help. - cltedderMay 04, 2008
- When I put a Disc into my Philips PET724 Portable DVD Player, the spinning device the spins the disk does not spin unless i tap the disk cover. If i put in a DVD it will not read it at all. So far only CDs work? How do you fix it?- PortableBest Solution

this sometimes starts spinning the disk for mine. If you hit the cover that is over the disk it sometimes starts. (the Pet724 is very hard to break so it will be ok. Ive actually dropped mine a few times and it worked every time.)

I had the same problem with my PET724. I tried cleaning the lens, letting the battery run dead, even beating on it but nothing worked. When I was cleaning the lens again with some cleaning agent I accidentally slid the laser head as far away from the center as it would go. When I loaded another disc it has worked fine ever since. I have played at least two dozen discs so far with no problem.
