Question about Heating & Cooling

Arctic King model MWF1-05CM periodically switching cold-hot air

Arctic King model MWF1-05CM when set to either cool setting on any temperature setting blows cold air for a couple minutes then switches to very very hot air for even longer than it was blowing cold air. I've only had this unit for about a year and it has been doing this ever since I first started using it.Being unknown as the hottest bedroom in the house just makes this even worse than it appears.

SOURCE: Problem with GE Zoneline 5200 model

Heat pumps have saftey circuits that prevent liquid flooding of the compressor. Inadequate airflow across the evaporator in cooling can trip this circuit. Have your package unit serviced with particular attention to cleaning the evaporator coil and be sure your filters are clean and changed frequently in the summer months. Hope this helps GL!

SOURCE: ac BLOWING HOT AIR INSTEAD OF COLD

Check to see if your outside unit is running. If not, check the breaker. If it is running you may have an issue with the reversing valve. It looks like three lines coming out of the top and one on the bottom. Trace the wires back to see that they are tight and secure. Of course, TURN OFF THE POWER first. good luck.

I have a Arctic King through wall AC model MWW-12ERN1-MI0 and the compressor will not engage to cool the air. Can anyone help me diagnose and fix this problem?

On the ac unit electric section, check for power at Y1, should have power, possibly to x or c ( common terminal).
Check for power across the compressor contactor, should have power or something is open such as a pressure switch or compressor protection. If there is control power at compressor contactor solenoid ( 24 volts control), then check for supply power on line side of contactor, then on load side of contactor (supply voltage e. g. 230 volts. If all voltages are present, then check the compressor for opens and electric continuity.
CAUTION: electricity is dangerous, can kill and/ or cause fires. Do not attempt if not aware of safety procedures.

Is there any kinds of problems with this air conditioner

Here are some reviews and questions that have already been asked on Fixya. any appliance that is only used for a few months of the year and then rests for months is going to exhibit some problems eventually. Usually just a matter of getting an AC engineer to add some more refrigerant gas.

Why does the external unit go between extracting hot and cold air without any setting changes?.

if you have your air conditioning on an "automatic mode"
You set the temperature and the unit will decide what it has to do to achieve this temperature, ie heat or cool, the unit will the switch back and forth to try and maintain rhe set point temperature, this is totally normal,

Why does the split unit blow hot air in air conditioner mode, when switched on with the remote control.

because you have the temperature set at 28 degrees celcuis . Change the temperature to 18 degrees and it will cool 28 is hotter
It is a reverse cycle air conditioner it will warm the room if you set temperature to 28 degrees . Set it lower and it will blow out cold air.
Have exact same air conditioner as I recognise the remote control.
point it at the air conditioner when altering the temperature setting.
Check under the slide compartment also on the remote for more advanced settings.

    Food is freezing

usually there is an adjustment at the back for the difference between the fridge and freezer compartment. Often is just a vane that blocks freezer air, too much air would freeze the food. Normally you set the fridge thermostat for a normal food temp, then adjust the air to keep the food warmer than the freezer.
