Question about Maytag MSD2756G Side by Side Refrigerator

Maytag side by side refrigerator/freezer

When my Maytag refrig/freezer goes through its defrost cycle, I find water deposited on the floor at the far right corner of the unit. I have pulled the refrig away from the wall, removed the panel, and vacuumed away all collected dirt but the water seems to be deposited anyway. The unit may go 2-3 days before I observe the water again. This condition has been going on for the last few months. I have not been able to solve it.

Water laeking on floor in front of freezer door

You probably have a clogged defrost drain. Look way inside at the very bottom and back of the freezer and you should be able to get to it to clean it out. Also I would pull the refrig out from the wall and see if you can get to part of it from there. Hope this helped.

Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM or COPPER solid wire , 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . When refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer from the heater , to the wire , keeping the hole from freezing up again .

DEFROSTED WATER DOES NOT DRAIN TO PAN

Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) and the bottom panel . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM or COPPER ( ground wire is good ) solid wire , 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . My Maytag side-by-side refrigerator/freezer Leak

There is a pan and drain hose under the freezer coil that is there to catch any water when the freezer goes into defrost. I feel strongly that is where you will find your leak.
I hope this helps.

Freezer compartment has frost buildup

This can be caused by the drain hole below freezer coil being blocked by ice. You MUST remove all ice in drain under freezer coil. Use turkey baster to squirt hot water into hole and use hairdryer to defrost. Possible defrost thermostat is defective. Unit never goes into defrost, ice forms on coil and in floor of freezer. After defrosting may work OK for a week or two but gradually gets warmer because ice is blocking ports where cool air gets to refrig. May also have water in refrig box. Can also be caused by defective defrost timer.

You have a plugged defrost drain.
Unplug refrig. Unload freezer. Remove shelves. Take back panel out of freezer. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush water in the area of the defrost drain hole until it is clear and water will run through it into the defrost drain pan under the refrig. The drain is a hole about the size of a nickel, usually in the very back center, below the cooling coils. You can use the turkey baster to force water into and eventually through the drain hole. Remove ice from floor of freezer.
Re-assemble, refill freezer, and plug in. Now, when your refrig defrosts, the water will go out the drain instead of onto the freezer floor and out the freezer door onto your floor.

Maytag fridge has constant running water sound

you hear a constant running water sound? look in your manual under "normal operating sounds". it explains all of the sounds. it sounds like you're hearing the refrigerant going thru your evap. coil located behind the rear frzr panel. you unit goes into the defrost cycle roughly every 8hrs and water drip down into the condensate pan un the refrig.

It may have auto-defrost or frost-free feature that is not operating. Also there is a drain tube that goes from the compartments to the bottom of the fridge where the evaporator pan is. The tube may be plugged.
