Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

I have an Amana above range Radarange, Model #AMV4204AAB, Serial # 10168958GE. Tonight after running for a 7 minute period and finishing, it would not again start. There is power to it, but various buttons no longer work. The following buttons won't work: Kitchen timer, Light Timer, #5 button, Popcorn, Poultry, Auto Defrost, and the Start button. Any help?

Hi,

  1. Push the power cord all the way into the outlet in case it became loose and is causing the problem. If the microwave still isn't working, check for a blown circuit fuse, and repair it.
  2. Step 2 Check that the controls on the microwave are programmed correctly according to the owner's manual. If they aren't, program them.
  3. Step 3 Close the microwave door firmly. Touch the cook function on the Start Pad, not the timer. Check if the microwave works. If not, continue to step 4.
  4. Step 4 Program the Power Level correctly. If it's not programmed properly, the microwave will cook the food too quickly or too slowly.
  5. Step 5 Use only microwave safe dishes. Make sure food is evenly shaped and defrosted before placing it in the Amana Radarange microwave.
Thanks.

Where's the serial number on the karcher WV window vacuum

Hi. I've just bought the karcher window vac wv50 & am having the same problem finding the serial No. I presume you want to register your product for the guarantee to be valid. I went online Karcher.co.uk & registered mine. You will note that when doing so it does not ask for a serial number but a model No. This is found on the side of box you got the item in (mine is just above the barcode) & it reads something like; 1.633-113.0. Hope you still have the box!

Where can I download a manual free for my serger tonight. 14SH 654 model I need to make something tomorrow and have misplaced my manual

The Singer support site has manuals for download or purchase. Start here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html and enter the model number then click Search. Then click on the Free Download button for your machine. There are two different machines with the 14SH654 model number listed; one is an UltraLock and the other is a Finishing Touch sewing machine.

I hope this helps.

Just picked up the vacuum - any idea the dates of production on a G4 Anniversary Edition?

The 10 digit serial number on ALL G series Kirbys (G3, G4, G5, G6, Ultimate G, Diamond Edition and Sentria) is engraved into the aluminum on the side of the Kirby, right above where the cloth bag attaches to the machine. This serial number contains the EXACT manufacture date of the machine.
The first number in the serial number will be a 1, 2, 3 or 4 and pertains to the quarter of the year in which the machine was manufactured. The second and third number is the year of manufacture.
FOR EXAMPLE.... in the serial number 1071104984, the machine was manufactured in the first quarter of the year 2007.
The G4 models were manufactured from 1993-96.
My G4 80th Anniversary edition doesn't seem to fit this, however. It's 8941106700. I suspect it's got a replacement handle.

The machine runs for brief periods, then shuts itself off. If it is allowed to sit for several minutes, it runs again, then shuts itself off.

the motor is heating up to much and the cut out switch is kicking in. You need to check the the motor filter, and worse case you may need to new motor..

How do I program a Micronta programmable timer--I set the time to have it go on, but how do I set it to go off?

LCD Programmable Timer (630-0892) Operation Faxback Doc. # 17153 Setting The Time and Day Follow these steps to set the current time and day. 1. Slide RUN/PROG/TIME SET to TIME SET. 2. Press HOUR to set the hour digits. Pressing and holding down HOUR rapid- ly advances the hour digits. NOTE: P appears to the left of the hour digits to indicate P.M. hours. 3. Press MIN (minute) to set the minutes digits. Pressing and holding down MIN rapidly advances the minute digits. 4. Press DAY until the correct day abbreviation appears. 5. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. The colon flashes to show the clock is running. NOTE: Keep this switch set to RUN to prevent accidentally changing the time. Setting The Timer The timer has 14 settings (1-14). Odd numbered settings specify a time to turn on the appliance and even numbered settings specify a time to turn off the appliance. Follow these steps to set your timer. 1. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to PROG. The display shows the first setting. If you have not entered any setting, the display appears as shown in the illustration. 2. Press Event to select a setting to enter or change. 3. Press Hour to set the HOUR digits and press MIN to set minute digits to the correct time. NOTE: Be sure P appears to the left of the hour digits when you want to set a P.M. hour. 4. Press Day to select the day of the week for this setting. If you want the setting to apply to every day of the week, repeatedly press DAY until all day indicators appear on the display. 5. When you finish entering the setting, press EVENT. The timer advances to the next setting. 6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to enter additional settings. NOTES: Be sure to set the timer to turn off the appliance. The appli- ance remains on as long as there is power if you do not set a time for the appliance to turn off. To replace an existing event, select its setting number and set the new event time. To clear an event, select its setting number and press CLEAR twice. Be sure to clear both the on time and the off time for an event. If you set the timer to turn on the appliance every day, be sure to also set the timer to turn off the appliance every day. 7. Set the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. NOTE: You must set this switch to RUN to turn on or off the appliance either automatically or manually. When the timer automatically turns on the appliance, ON appears on the display and the indicator lights red. When the appliance turns off, the indicator turns off. Reviewing The Settings To review the settings in your timer, set RUN/PROG/TIME SET to PROG. Setting 1 appears on the display. Repeatedly press EVENT to view the other settings. NOTE: To determine event being programmed, pull the power for a period of 5 minutes. Then re-power the unit. The first event will be "ON" and the next will be "OFF", etc. There will be a number to the side of the display that tells you which event you are programming, The even numbers are "OFF" and the odd numbers are "ON" events. Stopped working a few weeks ago - bought and installed new battery seemed to be working OK - now after about a week, it goes for about 15 minutes then stops...

It may need a longer charging period to bring the battery up to full charge. If you have a voltmeter, measure the battery voltage while it is being charged--it should read several volts above the rated battery voltage. If nearly equal, the charge unit may need repair or replacement. Good luck!

Turning itself off

With newer models will not work things that you attach to the vacuum such as the hose and the carpet shampoo attachment. Loose attachments will work just fine. It is same diameter holes that are being used in later models.

Switch - there is not much you can do without getting inside of the vacuum. You have to access inside and get it fixed.

Handle broke off just above the four screws that attach it to the body of the vac. Hoover does not list parts for models that are more than two years old. The vac operates perfectly but without a handle my wife cannot use it, where can I find a part replacement. Easy to remove four screws and replace. Don’t want to drive 100 or more miles to find an authorized repair shop. Oh yes, this is a Hoover Preferred Wind Tunnel Bagless

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You have all the information needed but I would contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer and they may have a good used one or they may stock a new handle for your you or they can ship you one If you live too far from a factory authorized dealer. The vac shop that I worked in always had good used parts for ½ the price and it worked just fine – the only difference was the color and for the handle that would not make a difference in the performance and your wife could use the vacuum again. Also Hoover can ship the part to you providing they have it in stock. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
