SOURCE: front load washer

Hitchhiker, you don't have to remove the front of the washer. The original boot was glued in areas around the door. They came out with a new design because of water leakage on the bottom. The new kit, part number 5303937187 comes with a spring that holds it on to the panel. You can do one or two things, if you don't have the leaking problem, glue the boot back on. Or you can order the new kit, it comes with instructions and replace the whole boot. Check it out, it might be covered under service flash #26-758BR. In any event this job can be done by leaning the washer back against the wall to make room between the tub and front panel. You are going to need an assist, it's better with 2 people. SOURCE: Frigidaire front load, ERR LOC, washer won't run

Just had same problem. After removing boot/rubber gasket around opening, and replacing door lock assembly it still would not work giving the same ERR LOC message! Another site directed me to press the "Options" and "Select" buttons at the same time. BINGO! My husband was quite proud of me!

Disconnect power then open the door and remove the spring-hoop assembly that secures the door gasket. Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then pull the door lock and switch assembly out. Transfer the wires to the new door lock and switch assembly then install into place. Put the door gasket back and secure it with the spring-hoop assembly. Removing outerseal on my frigidaire front load w as sher

Are you asking about the rubber door boot/seal??? The outer edge is held on by a spring loaded wire that runs around the door opening. You can see it if you lift the outer edge of the boot close to the painted cabinet front. The inner edge of the boot is help on by a very big hose type clamp. Some models you can get to it through the opening after you remove the outer wire. Some models need the washer top removed to get to the clamp screw.

My frigidaire washer will not spin, why

You will need to check the door switch you should have 1500 ohms no less than 1400. To check remove wire ring from door seal carefully peal rubber seal off flange. The remove 2 screws holding switch and carefully take out. Check with ohmeter. This is a fairly common problem with that model. For the lowest price on parts go to www.appliancehelponline.com

I have a Kenmore elite front load washer. The

The rubber liner (called a "bellow") can be purchased for less than $100. If you wish to install yourself, the following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385210-replacing_door_bellow_kenmore_elite

If the bellow isn't damaged, you can still use the link provided to simply re-install it. If the outer bellow clamp (wire hoop with a spring) is damaged it can also be purchased for about $20 or less. Searspartsdirect.com or appliancepartspros.com offer the best prices with exploded view diagrams of your washer. Just use your model number (located along the door opening) for your search criteria.

So, the choice is yours. Spend about $100 (if required) and repair this yourself. Or, spend $$$ for a new washer. I own a model like yours and I know it wasn't cheap. If the only think wrong with the washer is the door bellow, I think this just may be worth the time and effort to repair.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Replace the front bellow or front seal, as it may be called. It is an inner tube shaped rubber liner that seals between the front of the washer door and the front of the drum. The cost is about $35.00-$40.00 and you will need the kit as it includes the rubber spacers that are essential to doing the job. The job takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete. It is not hard, but it is dedious and requires some basic skills. Directions included in the kit are helpful.
