go to dos prompt in a windows pc and type in ipconfig and press the enter key to find the default gateway address
it might be 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1 these are the most common. Type the ip address into internet browser to log into the gateway router. There will be an admin user name and admin password. It might be the default or it might be written hopefully on the router case/
try
Username:
cusadmin
Password:
password
IP Address:
192.168.0.1http://www.cleancss.com/router-default/SMC/SMC8014WG
if you get into it look up wi fi security to find out the wep key or wpa key
Though you are getting strong signals from the router, the router itself may not be connected to the Internet. The owner may leave the router on but power off the modem. It is possible that they may use the router for thier own private network with no connection to the Internet. When you connect to the router, check your network and sharing center to see if you see an X marked on the connection between the router and the Internet. If you do, the router is not connected to the modem.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on wireless settings then wireless security then click on WEP and there is code it is your password to connect wifi. Let me know if you need further assistance. The default username and password for most routers I have seen is admin and admin provided you have not changed it. All are lowercase letters. Also I suggest you use the WPA or WPA2+ encryption if its available. The WEP is easy to crack wirelessly and I had a gala time cracking my neighbor's router in less than 3 hours!
First, check to make sure that you can get Internet through a wired connection, if you can't then wireless won't work either. Second, if you can, then try connecting to the wireless without using WEP or any security. You can turn this off by going to 192.168.1.1 in your web browser while wired to the router from your PC and go under wireless security. If you can connect from an unsecured access point then set up a WEP key with a pass-phrase and when you are asked for the pass-phrase from the PC use the the hex key 1 that is generated by the router instead of the pass-phrase. You should have no problem connecting. Thye wizard that comes on the configuration CD will not set up your wireless correctly, you really have to configure the system using the IP.
1. Using a computer that is wired to the router, access the router's setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the address field of your browser.
2. By default there is no username and password is admin.
3. Once you're in the setup page, click wireless then there is a sub tab there called wireless security.
4. You will find there the wireless key that is enabled in your router.
For clarification, what OS are you using? If you are using Windows 2000 or later, it should ask you for a WEP key and the SSID. Both of these numbers are available on the bottom of your router if it was provide by your ISP (such as with Verizon, Comcast or Time Warner).
Wii Error Code 51331 means there is a problem with wireless security.
Make sure your router’s WEP key matches the WEP Key you entered in the Wii.
If your router is using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be 10 characters.
For 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be 26 characters.
WEP Keys can only use the characters 0-9 and A-F.
If your router allows more than one WEP key to be entered at a time, make sure the key you’re using is on slot one.
If you double checked the WEP or WPA key with the router and the Wii
and they match, but you still receive the Wii Error Code 51331, then
MAC filtering may be enabled in the router. You will have to add your
Wii’s MAC address to the router’s allowed list. You can do this by
logging into your router and going to the “access control, access list,
or network filter” settings.
If you still have trouble with Wii Error Code 51331, try changing the
wireless router’s channel to 1 or 11. This may increase download speed.
Check Nintendo’s router page for special notes on your router if available. Follow the instructions of the special notes.
Your wireless router must broadcast in mixed or b/g mode and cannot be set to “g” only mode.
